Patrol Report 11/06/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 1143 calls for service and generated 223 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. November 5 to 7:00 a.m. on November 6, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

A store employee at the Bealls, located at the Five Points Shopping Center, called Corpus Christi Police after he observed a man steal nearly $800 worth of merchandise.

Officers arrived and were told by the employee that he observed a Hispanic male grab about 20 sweaters and run out the front door of the store without paying.  The employee said he ran after the suspect, but was pushed into a parked car by the man.

The suspect dropped the merchandise and jumped into a waiting vehicle It was described as a grey 2004 Nissan Sentra with three other males inside.

At this time, no suspects have been identified in this case.

The number of firearms stolen out of vehicles continues to rise.

Two fisherman called Corpus Christi Police after their 2015 Chevrolet Silverado had the rear passenger window broken out and a handgun was stolen while they were fishing at Wilsons Cut on State Highway 361. The 27 year old victim also reported a backpack, and a computer were taken.

At this time, no suspects have been identified.

There have been 152 firearms stolen out of vehicles this year, only 35 have been recovered.

A 61 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his 53 year old wife hit him in the head with a wooden club.

Officers arrived and were told that the couple was arguing about the female stealing money from the man. During the argument, the wife grabbed a club and struck her husband on the left side of his head. The man was able to take the club away from his wife and called police.

CCFD EMS treated the man for injuries to his head, but he refused to be taken to the hospital.

The wife, Verter Graham (05/14/1962), was arrested for aggravated assault.

Employees of the U-Haul, located in the 3600 block of South Port Avenue, called Corpus Christi Police after they discovered seven of their trucks had their hoods tampered with and four of the seven had batteries stolen.

An employee told Officers that while he was checking the mileage on some of the U-Haul vehicles when he noticed one of the trucks did not start. He found the hood was partially opened and unlocked and then discovered the battery was missing.

While inspecting other trucks parked on the property, he found seven had the hoods unlocked. Four of the seven trucks had batteries removed. Those stolen batteries were valued at $110 each.

At this time no suspects have been identified, and the crime is still under investigation.

A store clerk at the Valero Corner Store, located in the 6300 block of McArdle Road, called Corpus Christi Police after a man robbed the store.

The clerk told Officers that a male suspect walked into the store and asked if he could have $40 from the cash register. When the clerk refused to give him the cash, he threatened to pull out a gun. The clerk opened the register and the suspect took the bills from inside.

The suspect fled on foot toward the back of the store.  He was described as being a Hispanic male in his thirties, and was last seen wearing a black and white shirt and khaki shorts.

At this time no suspects have been identified.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

The southbound lanes of the 3800 block of Ocean Drive were closed for over an hour while Corpus Christi Police investigated a crash involving an intoxicated driver and a tree.

The crash investigation revealed that a female was driving her 2015 Mazda sedan south on Ocean Drive, just past Doddridge Street, when she lost control of her car and struck a tree in the median.

Neither the female driver, nor her 22 year old female passenger were injured in the crash.

After an investigation, Officers determined that the female driver, Molly Tucker (07/06/1996), was intoxicated. She was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Her passenger, Li-Wen Wei (08/10/1993) was also determined to be intoxicated, and she was arrested for public intoxication.
