Case Number: 1512020081
A neighbor who lives in the 3700 block of Scarlet Oaks Drive called Corpus Christi Police after she heard gunfire outside her home and then saw two cars driving away.
After both cars left, the female witnessed a 16 year old male walking in the street. Officers arrived and the male told them that he was in one of the cars with a group of other males, when he started to get assaulted.
The car he was in stopped on Spanish Oaks Drive and he was forced out. Another car with another group of males that was following also stopped and they all got out and told him to give up his shoes and a cell phone. Before leaving, one of the males pulled out a gun and fired a shot into the ground near the victim but did not strike him.
All of the suspects got into a cream colored Cadillac and the other car and fled with the stolen property.
The victim was taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS for the minor injuries he sustained in the assault.
Officers are still investigating this case, and no suspects have been identified.

A 39 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he caught a suspect breaking into his car while it was parked in the 2400 block of Ruth Street.
The victim told Officers that he woke up after hearing a glass window of his car break. He looked outside and saw a back passenger window broken out and a man reaching inside removing property.
The victim was able to run outside and hold the suspect down until police arrived. The suspect, Tiofilo Garcia (03/15/1961), was arrested for burglary.
The victim estimated the broken window would cost about $350 to repair.

A female driver was arrested by Corpus Christi Police for driving while intoxicated after she drove her car through a fence and into a house.
Officers arrived in the 2800 block of McKenzie Road and determined that the driver was traveling west on McKenzie Road and lost control of her vehicle. The 2002 Suzuki SUV left the roadway and struck a wood fence, a flower box, and the brick exterior of a home in the 10400 block of Pioneer Drive.
No one was injured, but after an investigation, the driver, was determined to be intoxicated. The driver, Julie Garza (03/06/1971) was arrested.
He owner of the home said that the damage done to his property was estimated to be $6500.

P.C. 49.04 Class A Misdemeanor
Case Number: 1512030011
A female using her cell phone while driving in the 4100 block of Weber Road ran off the street and struck a fire hydrant, a utility pole and two fences.
Officers arrived in the 4100 block of Weber Road and determined that the driver was traveling south on Weber Road and lost control of her car. The 2012 Chevrolet sedan left the roadway and struck a fire hydrant, a AEP utility pole and then continued on striking two wooden fences of homes located in the 4100 block of Markins Drive.
No one was injured, but after an investigation the driver was determined to be intoxicated. The driver, Lauren Gonzales (12/29/1980) was arrested.
The total amount of damage done was estimated to be $13,500.
