Patrol Report 12/11/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 907 calls for service and generated 202 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. December 10 to 7:00 a.m. on December 11, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Case Number: 1512100121
A restaurant employee called Corpus Christi Police after a man armed with a handgun robbed the business, located at 822 South Port Avenue.

When Officers arrived, the women who was working the cash register, told them that a bald black male wearing a dark blue long sleeve shirt entered the restaurant and pointed a gun at her and demanded that she open the register. When she did, the suspect grabbed the cash from the drawer and then walked out.

No one in the business was injured.

Officers have not identified a suspect in this case and continue to investigate.

Case Number: 1512100138
A 31 year old man was stabbed in the hand by his common law spouse after a disturbance inside a home they share in the 2800 block of South Staple Street.

Officers arrived and were told that the man was getting mad at the couples 18 month old son for messing around with the Christmas lights on the tree.  The mother began to argue with the man and the disturbance turned physical when she picked up a knife in the kitchen and stabbed him in the right hand.

Officers arrived and took the female, Norma Romero (06/10/1983), into custody.  She was arrested for aggravated assault.

The man was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS to be treated for his injuries.

The child was released to other family members

Case Number: 1512100087
A man threatened a restaurant employee with a knife after she confronted him about not paying the bill for his meal.  

Corpus Christi Police arrived and discovered that the man had eaten at the business, located at 1220 Airline Road, and then tied to walk out of the restaurant without paying for the $10.50 tab.

When the man walked out, and the employee confronted him just outside the front doors and asked him to pay, he pulled out a pocket knife. The employee went back into the restaurant and called the police while the man walked away toward the Gulfway Shopping Center across the street.

The suspect, Adrian Campos (10/31/1972), was spotted by Officers and arrested.

A knife was recovered from his pants pocket.

Three Corpus Christi Police SWAT Team members eating lunch at a restaurant, located at 10514 Leopard Street, had to get involved after a disturbance inside the business turned physical.

Restaurant employees and customers told Officers that a man and a women were eating when they began to argue loudly.  The man began to yell at the woman that they were leaving but the female refused to get up.  The man then grabbed a fork from the table and began to stab the female in the face.

A 26 year old male customer sitting nearby went to help the female and he was punched in the head. The three Officers, who were not on duty, also got involved and were able to handcuff the man until other Officers arrived.

The 35 year old female was transported to Northwest Regional Hospital by Annaville VFD EMS for injuries to her left cheek and mouth area.  The injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

The male customer who was hit in the face was taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The suspect, Pale Toa Eva Jr. (11/17/1976), was arrested for one count of aggravated assault against the female and one count of assault against the man.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer participating in the Shop With a Cop event at a business, located at 4109 South Staples Street, went into action after store employees alerted him about a theft.

The Officer was shopping with a student when employees told him that there was a man in the back of the store that had stolen some beer. Employees said that they saw the man select a few beers from the cooler and he took them into the bathroom opened them up and drank them.

The man then went back to the cooler and took another beer.  He opened it up and walked out of the store without paying through the automotive section of the store. When the Officer contacted the man outside he was still drinking the beer.

The Officer arrested, Franklin Austin (09/18/1964), for theft and public intoxication.
