The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 787 calls for service and generated 164 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. December 30 to 7:00 a.m. on December 31, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Location: 2700 Ruth Street
Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

Case Number: 1512300111
Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash involving two vehicles and a report that one of the drivers had fled the scene on foot.

When Officers arrived in the 2700 block of Ruth Street, the 23 year old driver of a Ford F150 truck said he was driving east on Ruth Street when a 2000 Ford Expedition traveling west entered his lane and sideswiped his truck ripping apart the front left tire. The Expedition then struck a utility pole down the street and the driver exited his vehicle and fled on foot.

During the investigation, Officers became aware that the driver of the Expedition ran to his home in the 3600 block of Chippewa Street. Officers went there and located the driver, David Blanco (10/04/1993), and after an investigation they determined that he was intoxicated.  He was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

No one was injured in the crash, however, AEP estimated the driver did nearly $500 in damage to the utility pole.

Offense: Aggravated Robbery

Case Number: 1512300104
Two employees of a liquor store, located at 2222 Airline Road, called Corpus Christi Police after two armed men robbed the business where they worked.

The employees told Officers that one of the suspects was armed with a handgun, and the other was armed with what appeared to be a taser. One of the suspects handed the employees a bag to put the money from two different cash registers in.

Both men fled on foot and have not been located.

One of the suspects is described as being a white male in his early thirties, wearing a dark hoodie, gloves and something covering his face.  The other suspect is described as being a Hispanic male also in his thirties wearing dark colored clothing and gloves.  His face was also covered.

Location: 900 South Brownlee Boulevard
Offense: Aggravated Assault
P.C.  22.02   Second Degree Felony

Case Number: 1512300100
A 27 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after her ex-boyfriend threatened her with a gun while she was trying to move out of their apartment in the 900 block of South Brownlee Boulevard.

The female told Officers that she was in the process of moving out of a home she shared with her now ex-boyfriend, Jeremiah Hinojosa (05/28/1988), when they got into a verbal argument and he punched her in the chest. He then pointed a gun at her head and made threats to kill her.

The female was able to escape without being injured and called police. Officers arrived and arrested the ex-boyfriend for aggravated assault.

They were also able to recover the .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun the man used to threaten the female.
