A 38 year old female managed to dial 911 with her cell phone while she was being attacked by a man inside a camper that was parked in the 1500 block of Clare Drive.
911 Metrocom was able to ping the area of the cell phone after emergency call takers heard a female yelling “leave me alone.”
When Officers arrived in the area of the call they attempted to knock on the door of the home located there. While knocking on the front door, Officers heard a female yelling for help from inside of a Fleetwood Camper that was parked nearby. The camper was locked inside a fenced in area behind the house. The gate to the fenced in area was double locked with padlocks and the chain link fence had barbed wire on top. The Officers were able to make their way to the camper and found the female inside. She was not seriously injured.
She did tell Officers that a male she met earlier at a bar had brought her to the camper and then refused to let her leave. He physically assaulted her and made threats to kill her.
Officers found the man, William Kennihan (01/18/1978), who was also still inside the camper and arrested him. He is charged with aggravated kidnapping and assault, both felony offenses. He was additionally charged with interfering with an emergency call, a Class A misdemeanor.
