The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 956 calls for service and generated 203 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. January 18 to 7:00 a.m. on January 19, 2016. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Case Number: 1601190019
The owner of a business, located at 4126 South Padre Island Drive, called Corpus Christi Police after three men broke in and stole several items.

Officers arrived and the owner told them that she had video footage from the stores security surveillance system that shows three males, all wearing masks, dark hoodies and gloves attempt to pry open the front door of the business.

When that attempt proves unsuccessful the three suspects move to the back door of the business and they are able to pry it open. Once inside the suspects removed several items and damaged the glass cases in the store.

The store owner is still calculating how much property was taken, but did estimate nearly $500 in damage was done.

Officers continue to investigate this case, and are working to try and get a copy of the video.

Arson investigators are looking into a fire that caused an estimated $30,000 in damage to a hotel located at 901 North Navigation Boulevard.

Corpus Christi Police and Fire units responded to the report of a fire at the hotel and when they arrived found heavy smoke and flames coming from one of the rooms. The hotel was evacuated and there were no injuries.

At this time the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Case Number: 1601180096
A brother and sister were arrested by Corpus Christi Police after they both pointed a gun at a man who had confronted them about crashing into a fence.

Officers arrived at the apartment complex, located at 3535 Cottonwood Street, and a 35 year old man said that he saw the female hit a fence with her car. The female then went into her apartment.

When the man went to confront her about striking the fence, the female pulled out a gun and began to make threats to him.  When the victim would not leave, the females brother came to the door, grabbed the gun from his sister and he also began to threaten the victim.

Both siblings made threats to shoot the victim during the verbal confrontation.

Officers were able to locate the brother, Robert Medina (03/16/1995) and his sister Alyssa Medina (04/03/1997), and they both were arrested for aggravated assault.

The .40 caliber pistol the two suspects used to make the threats was also recovered by Officers.
