The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 959 calls for service and generated 222 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. January 31 to 7:00 a.m. on February 1, 2016. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Case Number: 1602010016
A 37 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he and his family were awoken by bullets striking his home in the 1800 block of Peabody Avenue.

Officers arrived and found several spent 9 millimeter shell casings in the street.

None of the four people inside the home were injured, however, there was damage done to the house. Officers found holes in two windows near the front door. A bullet was lodged in a wall separating the dining room and kitchen. A second bullet struck a wall in a bedroom were one female was sleeping.

At this time, Officers continue to investigate this case.

Offense: Hit and Run Investigation

A 44 year old man was taken to the hospital with injuries after he told Corpus Christi Police Officers that he was hit by a passing motorcycle that did not stop to help him.

Officers arrived, in the 5500 block of Leopard Street, and found the victim had a broken leg and hip. He was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital.

The man told Officers that he was hit by a motorcycle as he was crossing the street. Officers did not find any evidence of a crash, but continue to investigate this case.

Case Number: 1601310126
A business owner called Corpus Christi Police after he found a storage area of his restaurant had been broken into and $4200 worth of property was stolen.

Officers found that entry was made into the building, located at 711 Concrete Street, after the suspects removed a lock to a storage area. Several power tools and lawn equipment were taken.

At this time Officers have not identified any suspects involved in this case.

Location: 4000 Schanen Boulevard
Offense: Aggravated Assault
P.C.  22.02     Second Degree Felony

Case Number: 1601310048
A 23 year old female was shot in the leg after a disturbance involving several people outside of an apartment located at 4040 Schanen Boulevard.

Officers arrived and found the female had a gunshot wound to her left calf. Her boyfriend and another female were trying care for their friend who was later taken by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital.

After an investigation, Officers determined that a male suspect came to the apartment complex and was standing on the ground floor yelling at the victim’s boyfriend who was on the second level. The suspect on the ground floor pulled out a gun and fired several shots up at the people on the second level, striking the female in the leg.

The shots fired from the suspect also lodged in another apartment occupied by three people. No one inside that apartment was injured.

Officers were able to determine that the suspect had fled to the Christy Estates, located at Weber and Holly Roads. They went there and arrested the suspect, Chris Guajardo (08/13/1988), for aggravated assault and deadly conduct.
