The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 263 calls for service and generated 209 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. February 3 to 7:00 a.m. on February 4, 2016. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Case Number: 1602030077
Corpus Christi Police arrested a man after a postal employee saw the suspect take a package that he had just put on the front porch of a home located in the 1300 block of Buford Street.

The postal worker had left the box on the porch because no one was home.  A short time later, he saw the male suspect walk up to the porch and take the package.

The postal employee was able to follow the suspect while contacting police.

Officers were able to catch up to the suspect, Ryan Rivera (11/26/1972), at the intersection of Buford and Twelfth Streets and he was arrested.

The package, which contained $105 worth of food, was returned to the residence.

Corpus Christi Police were called after a 37 year old man walked into Bay Area Hospital with a stab wound to his arm.

Officers arrived at the hospital to investigate however the victim refused to provide any details as to where or why he had been stabbed.

Officers were able to speak to the friend who drove the victim to the hospital.  He told Officers that the man was stabbed in his left forearm while at an apartment in the 400 block of Knickerbocker Street.

Officers went there and did locate a crime scene inside of an apartment.  Officers are still trying to determine why the man was stabbed and at this time no suspects have been identified.

Case Number: 1602040015
A 35 year old man was robbed of his wallet, jewelry, three cell phones and some cash by a group of people in the parking lot of a hotel located in the 800 block of South Shoreline Boulevard.

The man was not injured, and was able to tell Officers that the group of three males and two females were in a 2012 Toyota Tundra truck.  The victim told Officers that he had accepted a ride from the group after he had met them at a club on Everhart Road.  Once in the downtown area, the suspects wanted the victim to withdraw money from an ATM machine and give it to them.

The victim was only able to withdraw a small amount of cash from the ATM.  After that he was assaulted and the suspects took his wallet, a watch, a ring, three cell phones, and cash from the victim.

Officers are still investigating this case, and at this time no arrests have been made.

Corpus Christi Police responded to the 1600 block of Cambridge Drive after a report of two vehicles driving down the street were shooting at each other.

Officers arrived and found fourteen shell casings in the street.

Witnesses told Officers that they saw a red truck being chased by a black Mercedes Benz going down the street.  Inside the Mercedes a man was standing up through the sun roof and he was shooting a gun at the red truck in front of him.  The witness also said that the red truck appeared to have someone shooting back.

A short time later, two men ages 35 and 36, showed up at Doctors Regional Hospital with minor injuries from flying glass fragments.  Neither one was shot.

Luckily no one else was injured.

Officers continue to investigate this crime and are still trying to identify everyone involved.
