The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 967 calls for service and generated 237 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. February 8 to 7:00 a.m. on February 9, 2016. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

P.C. 30.02      State Jail Felony

Case Number: 1602070073
The manager of a business, located at 4101 Interstate Highway 69, called Corpus Christi Police after they arrived at work to find that the safe from under a cash register had been stolen.

Officers arrived and were told by restaurant employees that there was no forced entry to the business and all the doors were found secured.

There was a large sum of money in the small metal safe due to a Super Bowl party that the restaurant had on Sunday.

At this time no suspects have been identified in this case. Investigators are hoping that video camera footage from the business will help them identify a suspect.

Offense: Aggravated Robbery

A 38 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after she was robbed at knife point in front of her home in the 700 block of Drexel Drive.

Officers arrived and the woman told them that she was returning home from the grocery store when she was approached by a white male in her front yard. The male, believed to be in his 30’s to 40’s in age, was dressed in a gray hoodie and blue jeans. The man produced a knife and told the woman to give him her money. When she told him that she did not have any money he put the knife up to her throat and told her to open the door to her house.

The male forced her to enter her home and once inside he grabbed a Samsung tablet, a watch, and some money.

Luckily the male suspect fled the home and the female was not seriously injured.

Officers did not located a suspect and they continue to investigate this crime.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

P.C. 49.04      Class B Misdemeanor

Corpus Christi Police are investigating a wreck after a 65 year old female slammed her car into the rear of a truck while it was stopped at a red light on the access road of Interstate 37 near McKenzie Road.

The crash investigation by Officers determined that the female driver of a 2003 Ford Focus was traveling north along the access road when she struck a 2014 Ford F250 truck from behind while it was stopped for a red light.

Neither the female nor the 45 year old man driving the truck were injured in the crash.

After an investigation it was determined that the female driver, Patricia Lara (12/02/1950), was intoxicated. She was arrested for driving while intoxicated a Class B misdemeanor.
