The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 944 calls for service and generated 217 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. February 10 to 7:00 a.m. on February 11, 2016. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Case Number: 1602100035
A 52 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he found someone broke into a home he was remodeling in the 10600 block of Veda Drive.

Officers arrived and were told by the man that the suspects entered his vacant home by removing a screen and then breaking the glass to a side window next to the back door. Once inside the suspects removed almost $1,700 worth of power tools.

At this time, no suspects have been identified and Officers continue to investigate this crime.

Case Number: 1602100072
Corpus Christi Police along with the United Postal Inspection Service are investigating the destruction of several mailboxes on the property of an apartment complex located at 6225 Saratoga Boulevard.

Police were called after the manager of the apartments found that someone had broken into the mailboxes and did nearly $3,000 in damage to the property. It is unknown if any mail was taken from any of the damaged boxes.

At this time no suspects have been identified.

Corpus Christi Police are investigating a wreck after a man slammed his truck into the concrete barrier of the Crosstown Freeway near Morgan Avenue.

When Officers arrived they found that the crash involving a 2002 Chevrolet truck had ripped the driver`s side tires, rear axle and drive shaft from under the vehicle. The truck also had heavy damage to its front end due to striking the center median.

The crash investigation by Officers determined that the male driver of the truck was traveling south on the freeway when the driver lost control and wrecked his truck.

Neither the male driver, David Canchola (12/31/1986), nor his 4 year old daughter, that was also in the truck at the time of the crash, were seroiusly injured.

After an investigation it was determined that the father was intoxicated and he was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.

The little girl was released to family members.

Offense: Aggravated Assault

Case Number: 1602110005
A fight between two siblings left one in the hospital with a stab wound and the other in jail after a disturbance at the home they share in the 4400 block of Townsend Street.

Officers arrived at the home and found a 31 year old female with a stab wound to her hand. She told Officers that her younger brother came home high on drugs and the two began to fight.

During the disturbance, the brother, Ernesto Tames (09/11/1986), hit her in the face, breaking her jaw and then stabbed her in the palm of her hand.

The brother was arrested for aggravated assault.

The sister was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS for treatment of injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
