The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to  735 calls for service and generated 190  reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. March 6 to 7:00 a.m. on March 7, 2016. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

A boat carrying eight people capsized due to rough waters  in Corpus Christi Bay and killed a small child.

Corpus Christi Police responded to an apartment complex located at 4645 Ocean Drive after a female showed up at the front door of one the apartments soaking wet.  She told the women who answered the door that she had swam to the shore and needed help.

Police Marina Patrol, two fire departments, and the Coast Guard launched a water rescue effort and were able to rescue six people from the water.  Five of the six were transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS.

A four year old boy who as rescued and transported to Driscoll Children’s Hospital was pronounced dead just after midnight.

A young female and an adult male are both still unaccounted for.

Corpus Christi Police are investigating why a 39 year old female was stabbed several times by a man that gave her and her boyfriend a ride home.

Officers arrived at an apartment in the 600 block of Glazebrook Drive and found the female had been stabbed in the stomach, left shoulder and left arm.

She told Officers that she and her boyfriend got a ride home from a man and when they arrived at their apartment on Glazebrook Drive, her boyfriend and the driver began to fight.  During the fight the female was stabbed three times.
The female was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS for injuries not believed to be life threatening.

She did not provide Officers the name of the suspect or why the three were fighting.

The ex-boyfriend of a female was arrested by Corpus Christi Police after he smashed out the windows of a vehicle and pointed a gun at her in the 4400 block of Valdez Street.

The 26 year old female said she was sitting in her sisters 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer that was parked outside her home.  Her ex-boyfriend arrived at the home, and he started smashing the cars windows with a hammer. The female said she was in the back seat when the suspect threw a brick at the car and it struck her in the back of the head.  The suspect then pulled out a handgun, and pointed it at her.

The female was not seriously injured.

Officers did find a hammer lying on the front driver side floor board of the car and a large concrete cinder block on the back seat. It is estimated the suspect did nearly $3000 in damage to the car.

Officers were able to locate the ex-boyfriend Joel Chapa (07/08/1994), at his home in the 4200 block of Barrera Street and he was arrested for aggravated assault and felony criminal mischief.
