The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 895 calls for service and generated 218 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. August 28 to 7:00 a.m. on August 29, 2016. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Corpus Christi Police arrested two men after they broke into seven different vehicles in the Flour Bluff area.

Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of an apartment complex, located at 2630 Waldron Road, after residents there saw the two men checking vehicle door handles.

When the Officers arrived, one of the suspects took off running on foot and went into an apartment and closed the door.  The Officers was able to force the door open and arrest the male, John Borrego (04/20/1998).

The Officers then located the second male suspect, Stevan Mendiola (08/12/1998) in a laundry room of the apartment complex.  He was in possession of several pieces of stolen property.

Officers found two cars that had been broken into at the apartment complex.  They also used a stolen I Pad that they recovered from the suspects to trace its owner.  When they went to contact him, Officers found five more vehicles that had been broken into by the suspects in the 900 block of St. Bartholomew Street.

Officers were able to return most of the property that the suspects had stolen to the rightful owners.

Both suspects were arrested for burglary to a vehicle.

Corpus Christi Police are investigating a burglary to a business located at 3701 Agnes Street.

Officers responding to an alarm call found a large hole in the side wall of the business.   Near the hole, plaster was chipped away and the tin siding of the building was pealed back and the wood inside was cut away.  The hole in the wall appeared to be large enough for suspects to make entry.

Once inside the suspects stole some power tools.

At this time, no suspects have been identified.
