Rose Blanton was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, and began her career with the Corpus Christi Police Department in Central Records as a Data Entry Clerk on April 3, 1995.  

During her 28-years as a civilian employee, Rose has held several positions within the department, including Telephone Report Unit Clerk, Fingerprint Technician and Crime Scene Investigator. While Rose was a Fingerprint Technician, she received a Letter of Acknowledgment for assisting officers who brought a subject to the Nueces County Jail to be identified by his fingerprints. The subject was found to have an active murder warrant. 

In June 2012, Rose transferred to the Property Division where she began working in all areas of the Property Warehouse and gained a wealth of knowledge. This led to Rose being promoted to Lead Supervisor in August 2021. Rose currently supervises six employees. She is responsible in preparing monthly auctions as well as overseeing weekly deposits from property that has met their retentions or has been awarded to the City of Corpus Christi. Rose also supervises the bi-annual weapons destruction and maintains the accuracy of the homicide vault by assuring that all cases and property are kept in a uniform storage. Rose ensures that all policies and procedures are followed which affects the yearly audit that is conducted to ensure the accountability and accuracy of all evidence.  

Rose has successfully completed numerous training classes and certifications to assist her in her positions, to include Breath Test/Intoxilyzer Operator; Crime Scene Investigaton and Evidence Collection; Collection, Documentation and Preservation of Footwear and Tire Track Evidence; Courtroom Testimony Techniques, Success instead of Survival; Digital Crime Scene and Evidence Photography; Texas Association of Property and Evidence Inventory Technicians. 

Rose’s direct supervisor, Patricia Persohn, stated, “Rose has a positive attitude, enjoys her job, is always willing to assist others, and is a role model of good work ethics.”  

In her time off, Rose enjoys going fishing, dancing and to the beach with her pups.
