On Friday, July 5, 2024, at 12:40am, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Texan Trail in reference to a shooting with injuries.

Officers arrived and located an 18-year-old female, suffering from a graze wound. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers were told that another victim, a 23-year-old male, had been shot and was transported to a local hospital by a family member. Officers contacted the male victim who had sustained serious injuries and was being treated by hospital staff.

Officers and Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division conducted their investigation, speaking to the victims and witnesses. Officers determined that there was a verbal argument between one of the victims and the offender, when the offender displayed a gun and shot both victims. Officers determined that the offender was inside of a nearby residence. Officers contacted the 16-year-old juvenile male and recovered the weapon believed to be used in the shooting.

The juvenile was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and for unlawful carrying of a weapon. He was transported to the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center for booking.
