ARREST MADE FOR CHILD LEFT IN VEHICLE

On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 11:16am, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Airline Road in reference to a child locked in a vehicle.

Officers arrived and spoke to a witness who advised they located a black SUV parked in the parking lot, with the engine running. The witness told officers they looked inside the vehicle and observed a toddler in the back seat and there were no adults inside or around the vehicle. Another involved person was able to locate the mother inside of a nearby store.

Officers spoke to the mother, 26-year-old Marilyn Savage, who admitted to leaving her toddler inside of the car while she went inside of the store.

Due to the fact that Savage intentionally left her toddler inside of the vehicle, alone, putting the toddler in a situation where the toddler could be in imminent danger, Savage was arrested for Abandonment with Intent to Return. She was transported to the City Detention Center for booking.
