JUVENILE ARRESTED FOR FIRING GUN IN THE AIR

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 9:09pm, CCPD Gang officers were actively patrolling the area of the 3900 block of Fort Worth Street when they observed two juvenile male subjects walking in the street. One of the juvenile males produced a handgun and shot multiple times in the air. The juveniles took off running down the street and a CCPD Drone operator was utilized in obtaining the juvenile’s direction of travel for officers.

Officers contacted the juvenile males on the 4000 block of Pope Drive and apprehended the 15-year-old juvenile male who was observed by officers shooting a handgun in the air. The handgun was found on the juvenile and recovered. The juvenile was also in possession of an illegal narcotic. He was arrested for unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance, discharge of firearm in certain municipalities and minor in possession of tobacco products and was transported to the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center for booking.

The other juvenile, a 14-year-old male, was issued a citation for minor in possession of tobacco products and released to his parent.
