UPDATE:

On March 9, 2025, at approximately 12:43 pm offender Alexander Falke was medically cleared and released from the hospital. He was transported to the city detention center for booking where he was charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and evading arrest in a vehicle.

ORIGINAL POST: On Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 10:45 pm, officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on the 5500 block of Saratoga.

The vehicle evaded from officers, going through various business parking lots, and ultimately entered an apartment complex.  The vehicle came to a dead-end point in the complex, and while officers were exiting the marked unit to initiate a high-risk traffic stop, the vehicle intentionally struck the police unit.  One officer discharged his duty weapon multiple times, striking the offender.

The male was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and upon release will be charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer and evading in a motor vehicle.  The two officers involved, operating in a two-man unit capacity, were not injured.  As per department policy, both officers will be placed on administrative leave.
