On Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:24pm, Corpus Christi Police Officers observed a passenger car traveling over 95mph on the 4000 block of Highway 358 eastbound. A traffic stop was conducted, and 25-year-old Joshua Blowe was arrested for reckless driving. He was additionally charged with child endangerment after a small child was located in the backseat of his vehicle. Blowe’s vehicle was impounded, and he was transported and booked into the City Detention Center.

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 3:16am, Corpus Christi Police Officers observed a passenger car traveling over 80mph on the 100 block of North Shoreline Blvd. The vehicle, while traveling at an excessive speed, was also observed to lose traction at a sharp curve and temporarily lose control, before regaining control and continuing to excessively speed down Shoreline Blvd. The speed limit on N. Shoreline Blvd. is 35mph. Officers conducted a traffic stop and 20-year-old Matthew Cortinas was arrested for reckless driving. His vehicle was impounded, and he was transported and booked into the City Detention Center.
