MISSING ELDERLY PERSON

Corpus Christi Police would like help from the public to locate a missing, elderly person.  69-year-old David Flores was reported missing on December 26, 2020.

Mr. Flores was last seen around early to mid-December.  Mr. Flores is most likely on foot and he is known to frequent the area of the 1900 block of Leopard or near HWY 286 @ Culberson.  Mr. Flores is described as a 69-year-old male, who stands 5’05”, weighs approximately 155 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.  Mr. Flores may have a beard at the moment.  Mr. Flores is known to wear a baseball cap and blue jeans.

The Fort Hood Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program will be hosting the Corpus Christi Police Department on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm at the Copeland Soldier Center located on the Fort Hood Base.

The Corpus Christi Police Department currently has 158 Police Officers that have prior military service. We currently have an additional 19 officers that are active reservists.

If you are a veteran and interested in joining our team, call (361) 886-2626 to speak with one of our recruiters. Our recruiters will guide you through the process and will be able to answer any questions which you may have.

Prior military applicants receive five (5) additional veteran points on their civil service exam.

Cadets and Recruit Officers are able to utilize Post 9-11 GI Bill or Montgomery GI Bill benefits during the Police Academy and Field Training stages.

The Corpus Christi Police Department offers 240 hours per year for military time, for those who are active reservists. That is in addition to the vacation, sick, personal and comp time officers already accrue.

In order to qualify for the 5 veteran points, applicants must pass with a minimum of 70% and achieve the cut-off score (if set). Only an “Honorable” discharge will qualify the applicant for the five (5) veteran points (given to applicant if they receive 70% or better on the written exam). The Honorable discharge must have occurred prior to the entrance exam. “General (under honorable conditions)” allows the applicant to take the test but will not qualify the applicant to be eligible to receive the veteran points. A DD-214 long form (member #4) must be received on or before the written exam date in order to receive veteran points.

NUECES COUNTY WANTED SUBJECT

Nueces County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help to locate Reynaldo Cabrera who has an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear – Aggravated Robbery (No Bond).

Cabrera is described as a 21-year-old male, who stands 6 feet, weighs approximately 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

PERSON OF INTEREST IN RECENT HOMICIDE

Investigators are attempting to identify a person of interest in a recent homicide.

The male in the video is being called a person of interest and Investigators need to make contact with him and also need to identify the owner/operator of the vehicle in the attached photos.

On Saturday December 26th at approximately 5:30 am officers were dispatched to 4800 Leopard for a “man down” in a vehicle.

When the officers arrived, they found a deceased 40-year-old male slumped over the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began to investigate this unattended death.

The investigation led to the identification and arrest of Stephanie Ysassi. She is seen in the video but is in custody.

SECOND ARREST MADE IN PORT HOMICIDE

Location: 3100 block of Port
Incident: Murder
Case Number: 2011150002

Corpus Christi Police Investigators have continued to work to bring resolution to a murder case which occurred November 15, 2020 on the 3100 block of S Port.  

On November 20, 2020 Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for a suspect, identified as 26-year-old, Jose Luis Erebia 

After a lengthy investigation, information was developed by the US Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force that wanted fugitive, Erebia, was staying at a residence located on the 700 block of Glenoak.  On December 23, 2020 a search warrant was executed at the residence on Glenoak and Erebia was located and taken into custody without incident.   

Erebia was transported to the Corpus Christi Police Department for questioning and was later transported to the City Detention Center for processing.

Erebia is currently being held on charges of Murder ($1,000,000 Bond) and on two unrelated warrants for Aggravated Robbery and Assault Family Violence-Choking ( Both No Bond). 

29-year-old Vallenie Sanchez was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension.

HELP US IDENTIFY AGGRAVATED rOBBERY sUSPECTS

Corpus Christi Police Department Investigators need your help identifying two suspects believed to be involved in at least three aggravated robberies.

On December 05, 2020 between the hours of 8:30 PM and 11:00 PM Officers were dispatched to the three separate convenience stores for Aggravated Robberies; on the 1600 block of Ayers, 2300 block of Agnes and on the 3900 block of IH 69 FWY SB. 

While in the commission of each Robbery, ones of the males displayed a handgun with a red bandana tied around the weapon and demanded cash from the employee, while the other acted as a lookout. The suspects were able to get away with undisclosed amount of cash in each robbery.  The description given for the suspects was the same for each robbery, we are actively seeking help from the public to identify these two suspects.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 18-25 years of age, approximately 5’06-5’08”, 185-200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The suspect was wearing a black jacket, red t-shirt, black pants and black slide-on sandals. 

The second suspect is described as a Black male, 18-25 years of age, 5’08”-5’10”, approximately 155pounds, bald with brown eyes.  The suspect was wearing a black jacket, blue t-shirt, black face-mask, black beanie hat, green warmups and white shoes. 

The suspects were seen getting into an orange or red in color Jeep Gladiator Truck.

ARREST MADE IN GRIZZLY STREET HOMICIDE

Corpus Christi Police Investigators have worked tirelessly to solve a recent murder which occurred November 27, 2020 on the 7900 block of Grizzly.

Detectives with our Homicide/Robbery Unit were able to identify and obtain an arrest warrant for a suspect, 17-year-old Eddie Quesada.

On December 09, 2020 the U.S. Marshals-Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force located and transported Quesada to the Corpus Christi Police Department to be interviewed by Detectives.  He was later transported to the City Detention Center for processing.

Quesada is currently being held on charges of Murder ($1,000,000 Bond), Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon ($150,000 Bond).

ARrest IN Recent homicide

On November 30, 2020 officers located on the 4000 block of Schanen and transported Cabrera to the Corpus Christi Police Department to be interviewed by Detectives.  He was later transported to the City Detention Center for processing.

Cabrera is currently being held on charges of Murder ($1,000,000 Bond).

VEHICLE OF INTEREST IN RECENT HOMICIDE

Date: 11/27/2020 7:15 P.M.
Location: 7900 block of Grizzley
Incident: Murder
Case Number: 2011270092

At approximately 7:15 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2020 officers were dispatched to the 7900 block of Grizzly for a shooting. 

Upon arrival, officers located two males who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Both males were transported to a local hospital.  One with serious injuries and the other with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Officers were later notified that the 17-year-old male had succumbed to his injuries. 

Investigators are still actively working on this case and following up on leads. 

At this time, Corpus Christi Police Homicide Detectives are seeking assistance from the public.  Detectives have obtained surveillance video of a vehicle of interest, that is being described as a black in color sedan.
