Corpus Christi Police Department needs your help to locate the whereabouts of a missing child. 9-year-old Josiah Preston Delgado has been reported missing on today’s date. Josiah was last seen at approximately 3:07 pm in the area of the Alameda and Louisiana. Josiah was last seen traveling south on Alameda from Louisiana. Anyone that has seen Josiah or knows his whereabouts, please contact 911 immediately. Neighbors in the area are asked to please check their doorbell or surveillance cameras for any sightings of Josiah.

Josiah is described as a 9-year-old male, who stands 4 feet 2 inches, weighs approximately 90 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Josiah was last seen wearing a long sleeve button up blue shirt, khaki pants, maroon shoes, blue Dino backpack with the name Preston embroidered on it and is wearing eyeglasses.

ARREST MADE IN MEULY STREET HOMICIDE

On January 12, 2020 at approximately 10:30 pm Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Meuly, reference a shooting.

Officers arrived on scene and located a 52-year-old deceased male.
Through their investigation, Detectives identified a suspect and obtained two warrants for 31-year-old Anthony Ramon.

Ramon was arrested by Corpus Christi Police Officers on January 16,2020 and was later transported to the Nueces County Jail on a warrant for Capital Murder ($1,000,000 Bond) and a second warrant for Evading Arresting from a separate incident ($3,000 Bond).

HIT AND RUN FATALITY

The Corpus Christi Police Department is seeking help in locating the driver or possible witness of a fatal hit and run crash that occurred on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 6:53 pm to the 7100 block of Yorktown for a male in the left, westbound lane. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased 57-year-old male, partially in the roadway. Investigators are attempting to make contact with anyone who may be able to provide information about the incident.

If anyone was in the area around that time frame and believes they may have seen the incident or suspect vehicle, you are urged to contact the Corpus Christi Police Department at 886-2600. Update: Tamija Furr turned himself in at the Corpus Christi Police Department on Monday, January 20, 2020. Furr is currently at the Nueces County Jail.

Corpus Christi Police Department is asking for your help to locate 21-year-old Tamija Furr who has two outstanding warrants out of Nueces County for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child ($50,000 Bond) and Sex Abuse of a Child – Continuous ($50,000 Bond).

Furr is described as a 21-year-old male who stands 5′ 07″, weighs approximately 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

FUGITIVE ARRESTED

24-year-old Damien Cavazos was arrested on several warrants including Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, Assault on a Public Servant and Theft; all no bond.

Members of the U.S. Marshals task force, which includes Corpus Christi Police Department Officers and with the assistance from the Aransas County Sheriffs Office, arrested Cavazos after locating him at an address on S Doughty in Rockport, Texas.

Cavazos’ location was narrowed down thanks to a Crime Stoppers Tip.

Cavazos was was booked into the Aransas County Jail for processing.

ARREST MADE FOR INJURY TO A CHILD

Offense: Injury to a Child

On December 27, 2019 Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a report of a video circulating on social media, which depicted an infant child being assaulted by a male, while a separate toddler child is shown in the background. Investigators quickly worked to identify the parties shown in the video. The child in the video was later identified as an 9-month-old male, who was being assaulted by his 31-year-old father. The 9-month-old child did not sustain major injuries.

On December 30, 2019, CCPD Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Marcus Reyna for Injury to a Child. 31-year-old Reyna was arrested on December 30, 2019, transported to the City Detention Center for processing and later booked into the Nueces County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Investigators are working in conjunction with Child Protective Services on this case. We can confirm that Child Protective Services removed the 9-month-old child, along with a 2-year-old and 5-year-old that same day. 5 additional half-siblings are being cared for by family members.

NEW YEAR’S SAFETY

The Corpus Christi Police Department wishes our residents and visitors a safe and Happy New Year. We want to remind you to please be safe and responsible as you celebrate.

For those who will be including alcohol in their New Year’s Celebrations, we ask that you plan ahead to ensure that you have a safe and sober ride home. If you see someone that is impaired and attempting to drive, attempt to assist them by making other arrangements. There will be dedicated officers out for the sole purpose of driving while intoxicated enforcement.

In an effort to make sure the New Year’s Celebrations are safe for everyone; the Corpus Christi Police Department has also implemented a plan for fireworks enforcement. Several Corpus Christi Police Officers will be designated to solely focus on fireworks enforcement and will proactively seek out violations.

It is unlawful to discharge fireworks inside the city limits. A citation for discharging fireworks inside the Corpus Christi city limits is punishable by a fine of up to $2,000 dollars. It is also unlawful to possess opened packages of fireworks and the punishment is a fine of up to $2,000 dollars per package.

Officers will also be on the lookout for celebratory gunfire. Discharging a firearm inside the city limits is punishable by up to a year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine. The penalty increases if a person if a person is injured by the gunfire.

Anyone who would like to report fireworks violations should call the Corpus Christi Police by calling 886-2600. Please do not call 911 for the sole purpose of fireworks complaints.
