DWI Driver’s Sister Returns Him to Accident Scene

Occurred on 12/12/11, 01:07 a.m.  Traffic Accident/DWI   3445 Saratoga     C1108980/1112120008    

Officers responded to the Cabaniss Dwellings apartment complex for a vehicle accident in which a blue 1990 Chevrolet 1500 struck a house.  Upon their arrival, Officers found the truck had driven through a chain link fence and crashed into the back porch, but the driver was nowhere to be found.  

A witness told Officers they observed the driver lose control, swerve into a field, jump a curb and strike the house.  The driver was observed to jump out of the truck before it struck the house and fled into the wooded area next to the home. 

Officers searched the area, but unable to locate the suspect who was described as a Hispanic male, 5’6” feet tall, and wearing dark clothing. 

While the Officer was finishing his investigation, the suspect’s sister returned with her brother to the accident scene.  The sister told the Officer, her 39-year-old brother was the owner of the truck.

The Officer contacted the suspect who was in the process of ordering the wrecker driver to unhook his vehicle.   He was covered in blood and had sustained several lacerations to his hands. 

The suspect who appeared to be intoxicated was treated at the scene by CCFD Emergency Personnel who determined he needed transport to Spohn Memorial for medical treatment.  A blood warrant was obtained for a blood specimen. 

Officers left the suspect in the care of Spohn Memorial medical staff, but Driving While Intoxicated charges are pending.

Burglar Arrested On The Way to Pawn Shop

Occurred on 12/08/11, 11:58 a.m.  Burglary of a Building   500 Ohio Avenue    1112080065 

Officer D. Bustamante contacted two individuals walking down the street with an edger.  Further investigation revealed they were on the way to the pawn shop to pawn the edger one of the males claimed to have found in an alley a couple of weeks before. 

Once the Officers took one of the individuals home, it was revealed the edger had been stolen from a neighboring home which was under renovation. 

Brandon Duane Grizzele (10/26/93) was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Building. The 17-year-old male who was walking with Grizzele was released.

Officers were able to contact the owner of the edger and returned the stolen property to him.

Suspect in Joker Mask Makes Getaway with Store Register

Occurred on 12/08/11, 7:30 p.m.  Theft   301 Mohawk    1112080136 

Officers responded to the K Store for a robbery and contacted the 57-year-old owner who reported a male wearing a mask walked into the store, grabbed the cash register, and fled out the door with it.  No one was inju

The suspect is described as Black male, 5’6” to 5’8” feet tall and weighing 140 to 160 lbs.  He was last seen wearing a thick black hooded jacket, black jeans, and wearing a Joker mask.

This week our Most Wanted Gang Member of the Week is  Ubaldo Ramirez who is wanted for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Evading in a Vehicle.   No Bond on both outstanding warrants.

Pursuit Ends with One Arrest

Occurred on 12/07/11, 7:23 p.m.   Evading Arrest   10361 S. Padre Island Drive     1112070087 

Officers patrolling the area of West Point and N. Padre Island Drive for burglars observed a beige 2001 Chevrolet Malibu driving very slowly through the parking lot.  Another male possible acting as the lookout was standing nearby. 

As the Officer approached the driver he left the parking lot and fled from the Officer.  The driver refused to stop and pursuit ensued.  The assisting Officers successfully deployed Stop Sticks in the 5400 and 7000 block of SH 358 deflating both front tires and slowing the driver down.  The suspect continued to evade Officers until he pulled over at Stripes Convenience Store at 10361 S.P.I.D. 

Pete Adam Jalomo (05/27/83) was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest in a Vehicle.  The Malibu was impounded.

Auto Burglar Arrested, Stolen Property Recovered

Occurred on 12/06/11, 7:50 p.m.   Burglary of a Vehicle   444 N. Shoreline Boulevard 1112060116

Officers responded to the Joe’s Crab Shack parking lot for an auto burglary in which the victims were holding the suspect on the ground.  Officers arrived to find two males and a female holding down the suspect.

Officers contacted the 66-year-old and 43-year-old couple who told Officers they returned to their silver 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser and found the suspect inside.

The suspect attempted to escape via the driver’s side door, but the victims blocked him. When he jumped over to the passenger seat, the victims pulled him out of the car.  The couple along with a witness held the suspect on the ground until police arrived. 

Further investigation revealed, the suspect had ransacked the vehicle and was in the process of removing several items from the vehicle. 

Vincent George Williams (06/20/78) was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and an outstanding Parole Violation warrant for Burglary.

The suspect was also found to be in possession of a radar detector, cell phone, phone jack, and used hand soap that did not belong to the victims or the suspect. 

Please contact the Corpus Christi Police Department Auto Theft Task Force at 361-886-2841, if you were a victim of an auto burglary in the same vicinity and believe any of the recovered stolen items are yours.  Detectives will take every step possible to establish that the property is released to the rightful owner and proof of ownership will be requested.

Victim Threatened with a Gun During Argument

Officers responded to the residence for a disturbance involving several individuals.   Upon their arrival, Officers contacted the 30–year-old victim who reported a Black male and a White female threatened him with a handgun after a verbal altercation.

Officers searched the area, but the suspects had fled in a white Ford Explorer.  Officers continued to monitor the residence throughout the night in the event the suspects returned.

The female suspect is known to the victim and the investigation is ongoing.

Bank Robbery Suspects On The Loose (Video)

Officers responded to the Charter Bank for a bank robbery involving two suspects.  Upon their arrival, Officers contacted bank personnel who reported a Hispanic male accompanied by a Hispanic female passed one of the tellers a note demanding money.  The note stated the male was armed with a firearm.

The teller complied with the demands and the suspects fled on foot southbound towards Leopard Street taking with them an undetermined amount of money.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 30 to 35 years of age, 5’5″ to 5’8″ feet tall, and weighing 180 lbs.  He was last seen wearing a red shirt with a bear logo on it.  No weapon was seen

The second suspect is described as a curly-haired Hispanic female, 35 to 40 years of age, 5’2″ to 5’5″ feet tall, and weighing 130 lbs.  She was last seen wearing a hooded turquoise jacket and blue jeans.

Suspect Armed with a Knife Holds Up Grocery Store

Occurred on 12/05/11, 8:21 p.m.   Aggravated Robbery   921 S Port     1112050130

Officers responded to the Jalisco Grocery and Meat Market for a robbery involving a knife wielding suspect.  Upon their arrival, Officers contacted the 21-year-old clerk who reported a male entered the business armed with a knife demanding money.

Once the clerk complied with the suspect’s demand, he fled on foot, running southbound on S. Port toward Buford with an undetermined amount of money.  Neither the clerk nor any customers were injured.

The suspect is described as a White male, 30 to 40 years of age, 5’5” to 5’8”, 165 to 175 lbs.  He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved green shirt, light green hooded sweater, black jeans with an emblem on the left upper leg area, and brown shoes.

Officers Catch Burglar “Holding the Bag”

Officers responded to the area for suspicious persons checking door handles in the neighborhood.  Upon their arrival, Officers observed Marcus Anthony Muguerza (05/30/88) standing in the front yard holding a purse along with a vehicle owner’s manual.  Muguerza discarded the items as the Officer contacted him.  Officers located other stolen items strewn throughout the yard.

Officers searched the area and discovered two vehicles had been burglarized.  One victim claimed her purse, while another victim positively identified her boyfriend’s stolen mouthpiece.

Muguerza was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Vehicle.  The stolen property was returned to the victims.
