Employees for a vehicle dealership reported to the Corpus Christi Police that 22 vehicles were damaged with multiple slashed tires, several hood lids crushed and several rear view mirrors ripped off the cars.  Crime scene techs came to the scene and processed for fingerprints.

Corpus Christi Police Officers went to 1100 Central in an effort to locate a fugitive, 52-year-old Philip Wright 10-29-60. During contact with Wright inside the residence an Officer observed a small quantity of Meth on the couch near Wright. Wright was booked for the warrant (Nueces County Contempt of Court no Bond for DWI) and possession of controlled substance, and then delivered to the city detention center.

Offense: Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

A 28-year-old man reported to the Corpus Christi Police that he found a new girlfriend on the website called MOCOspace.com.  The 28-year-old man reported that he went out somewhere on County Road 14B to pick up the woman he met online.  The 28-year-old man described the woman as a petite Hispanic female, about 19 years old. They drove to the beach and decided that they needed some beer.  When the 28-year-old man went inside the store at South Padre Island Drive and State Highway 361 (leaving the car running) the woman drove away in his car.  She has not been seen since.  The car was entered into The Texas Crime Information Center and the National Crime Information Center as stolen.  It is described as a white 2012 Volkswagen Jetta.

Corpus Christi Police responded to 4918 South Padre Island Drive for a fight.  Upon their arrival they observed a large crowd of people in the parking lot and 23-year-old Daniel Martinez 07/15/1990 as he pointed a gun in the air.  Martinez was arrested for Deadly Conduct, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Public Intoxication.  Also arrested was 29-year-old Fabian Fernandez 11/14/1983 for Public Intoxication and disorderly conduct.  The Gang Unit arrived and arrested two others that were involved; 22-year-old Rick Sanchez (5/1/1991) and 22-year-old Javier Solis (8/7/1991) both for Public Intoxication.

Corpus Christi Police Officers observed a large group of vehicles travelling north on Rodd Field. Several vehicles began travelling at a high rate of speed forcing other drivers to move into the turn lane. All 10 vehicles were stopped. Several advised they were coming from a restaurant at Saratoga and Staples where the racers congregate prior to racing. Results included: 4 vehicles impounded due to no insurance and/or the driver’s having warrants; 4 arrests (3 for MC Warrants and 1 Driving While License Invalid & No Insurance); 1 citation for No Insurance. Corpus Christi Police arrested 25-year-old Alexander Gonzalez (10/28/1987) for a warrant for his arrest and for no insurance; 24-year-old Matthew Garcia (4/11/1989) for Driving with a suspended license and no insurance; 21-year-old Juan Flores (2/10/1992) for two warrants for his arrest; and 26-year-old Christopher Blanco (2/3/1987 for a warrant for his arrest.

Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to 10618 South Padre Island Drive in reference to an assault. Employees escorted out two customers, 26-year-old Raymond Puebla 10/12/86 and his girlfriend 29-year-old Judy Ortega 01/03/84, after they argued in the bar. Two unknown males approached Puebla and assaulted him. Ortega was arrested for Public Intoxication. Ortega yelled and kicked the windows in the police patrol car. Puebla was arrested for Public Intoxication, began yelling while in the back of the police patrol unit, and spit blood over the unit. Puebla was transported to the Hospital for treatment of the injuries he received prior to his arrest. Puebla also damaged the door to the pub (Criminal Mischief report was generated). Puebla was medically cleared and then transported to the city detention center.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle crash in which a vehicle struck a house at Doddridge Street and Topeka Street Sunday morning. Several people had a party at the 4900 block of Wexford when an altercation ensued. The result was occupants of a 1995 green Chevrolet P/U truck chased the occupants of silver 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix passenger car. The truck hit the car causing the car to hit a house at 3762 Topeka and flip. A 17-year-old male passenger in the car was transported to the hospital. All occupants of the truck were identified and released. The driver, 22-year-old Joe Trejo 12/26/90, was arrested for Aggravated Assault, Warrants, and Failure to Stop and Render Aid. The truck was impounded and Trejo was delivered to the city detention center.

A 56-year-old man reported to Corpus Christi Police Monday morning that he found the back door to the business ajar and the safe was open. The 56-year-old man said money was missing from the safe and there was no indication of forced entry.

Rachel Ray 100K Video, a Combined Community Effort

Due to the combined efforts of: Animal Care Services, PAAC Volunteers, Corpus Christi Fire Department, Delmar College TV, and many community members and volunteers; a promotional video was created to show our proud community involvement and participation in the Rachel Ray 100K Challenge. CCACS is proud of the new image of Animal Care Services. CCACS has made progressive strides in services to the community, efforts towards increased adoptions, and more efficient responses to calls of service. Animal Care Services Receives Sponsor for Adoption Fees

Corpus Christi Animal Care Services along with PAAC volunteers invite the public, rescue groups, and charitable groups, to attend the Rachel Ray 100K Challenge Event this weekend 08/17 and 08/18 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

Due to the generosity of a private sponsor, all adoption fees are being paid for through the donor.  All adoptable animals are FREE on 08/17 and 08/18.

This includes spay/neuter, city registration, micro chipping, and age appropriate vaccinations.

Included in the weekend event will be family friendly fun and games; bounce house, balloons, hotdogs, dancing and much more.  Entry to the event is FREE. Donations of cat litter are greatly needed.

Police Execute Search Warrant

927 Lexington # 2

Officers from the Corpus Christi Police Narcotics Vice Investigations Division executed a search warrant at 927 Lexington # 2 at 4:27pm Thursday afternoon.

Officers seized 6.3 grams of crack cocaine,  1.58 grams of marijuana,  70.24 grams of Promethazine,  1 – Mossberg  12 gauge shotgun,  1 – Springfield 9mm pistol, a gold necklace and $8,032 in cash.

Lafayette Anthony 02/18/81 was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 3 and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Offense: Possession of a Controlled Substance & Evading Arrest

Corpus Christi Police went to the 400 block of Montclair at about 7:00am Thursday morning in response to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle with two occupants inside. The Officers arrived to find two men sleeping inside a black 2010 Chevy Camaro.  The Officer observed two clear packages believed to be crystal meth on the arm rest of the driver’s door.  The 28-year-old passenger was placed in the back seat of a Police patrol unit. The 38-year-old man in the driver’s seat provided his identification to the Officer and then escorted to the rear of the vehicle. The 38-year-old man then took off running thru the neighborhood.  The black Chevy Camaro was impounded and the 28-year-old was released at the scene.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a silver Chevy Suburban at the 4300 block of Harry Street Thursday morning for passenger not wearing a seat belt.  The passenger, 40-year-old Donna Duplessis (2/8/1973), had 3 outstanding Nueces Co. warrants for Theft, Contempt of Court and Driving While License Invalid.  Duplessis originally gave a false name and was additionally charged with Failure to Identify. Duplessis was arrested and delivered to the city detention center. The vehicle and the driver were released.

Event: Major Vehicle Crash

Crash Number: C1306033

Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle crash at the 2400 block of Yorktown Boulevard Friday morning when a silver 2004 4 door Volkswagon Jetta driven by a 22-year-old man crossed over into oncoming traffic and then collided with a silver 2009 4 door Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by a 24-year-old man. The crash caused the truck to end up in a ditch. The 22-year-old man told officers he was tired and fell asleep. The Jetta sustained major front end damage. The 22-year-old man sustained minor injury to his head from the airbag. The 22-year-old man had abrasions to his arm possibly from the airbag. Both drivers were checked by medics and refused transport. Neither vehicle was operable and both were towed due to damage. The 22-year-old man received a citation for making an unsafe change from a direct course.

A 27-year-old woman reported to the Corpus Christi Police that a black male stole female’s cell phone while she was in a parking lot at a Restaurant.  The suspect is described as about six feet tall, heavy-set, and wore a blue satin shirt and a black muscle shirt underneath, black baseball cap, with braids in his hair.  The suspect was last seen in the passenger side of a maroon Hyundai Sonata that left the area.

The Officer discovered 50-year-old Roberto Reyes (7/31/1963) had a warrant for his arrest for Terroristic Threats. Reyes was arrested and delivered to the city detention center.

The Officers discovered Crossland had a warrant for her arrest for a Driving While Intoxicated charge and she was arrested and then delivered to the city detention center.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a maroon Lincoln Towncar at the intersection of Westchester and Leopard Thursday night after the vehicle ran a red light. The Officer discovered the driver; 37-year-old Jesus Morin (3/29/1976) had an invalid license, no insurance, and had a warrant from the Corpus Christi Municipal Court for unpaid citations for no insurance. The Officer also discovered the passenger; 38-year-old Mary Garcia (1/31/1975) had a warrant for her arrest from Aransas County for Possession of Marijuana and for Bail Jumping. The Officer arrested Morin and Garcia and impound the vehicle. The Officer also discovered marijuana in the car and Garcia was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana then delivered to the city detention center.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a convenience store on Leopard Street at 12:25am Friday morning. Responding Officers discovered a person involved in the disturbance, 35-year-old Shawn Shockley (12/6/1977), had a warrant for his arrest out of Dallas County for Criminal Trespass. Shockley was arrested and delivered to the city detention center.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer responded to a single vehicle crash at the 6100 block of McGloin Road at 12:24 Friday morning. A maroon 2006 Toyota Tundra rolled several times and a Corpus Christi Airport Police Officer went to the crash to provide aid and contacted the driver of the Toyota, 21-year-old Ronnie Rodriguez (5/4/1992). Rodriguez was uninjured and displayed indications that he was intoxicated. Rodriguez was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation and to collect a specimen of his blood. Rodriguez was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and then delivered to the city detention center.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a yellow moped at 2:30am Thursday morning after the moped went through an intersection without stopping for a stop sign. The moped did not stop for the officer for several blocks. The Officer arrested 26-year-old JoAnna Garza (12/7/1986) for Driving While Intoxicated, Evading Arrest, and for No Insurance.

Corpus Christi Police responded to the 4700 block of Kosarek Drive for a found child. Upon arrival the Officer located a 2 yr old boy playing outside unattended. The Officer knocked on a few doors and located the boy’s grandmother who was upset that her 2 yr old grandson had gotten out. She explained the 2 yr old recently learned how to unlock the locks. She will have her husband install a new lock that is higher on the door.

Corpus Christi Police Officers investigated a private parking Accident with minor injuries Wednesday morning when they saw a woman running out of the store chased by Loss Prevention for Academy. An Officer chased the woman when the loss prevention employees yelled that the woman just stole from the store. The Officer followed until the suspect showed her intent to cross the freeway. At this point the Officer stopped chasing the suspect. A friend of the suspect was detained, but an affirmative link to the act of theft could not be established. She was identified and released at the scene. The woman crossed the freeway and remains at large.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 26-year-old Louis Rosales (8/11/1987) for theft after Rosales was kicked out of a bar for his level of intoxication. Rosales went into a bar and bragged about stealing an electrical meter from another bar. The bar staff kicked out Rosales and Corpus Christi Police Officers found Rosales walking on the sidewalk at 3555 South Padre Island Drive. Rosales was arrested for Public Intoxication, Theft, and for Resisting Arrest. The value of the meter was $1,500 dollars.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer found a gray 2008 Chevy HHR stopped on the median at the 3300 block of Saratoga Boulevard at 11:33pm Wednesday night. The Officer had an ambulance check 30-year-old Ashley Nerios (3/4/1983) for any medical condition and then Nerios was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

Offense: Unlawful Carrying of Weapons

Case Number: 1308140154

A 32-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were arrested Wednesday night for unlawfully carrying weapons and possession of controlled substances after the prohibited items were discovered on a traffic stop at Bluebonnet Drive and Old Robstown Road.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer initiated a traffic stop at 10:14pm when a silver 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis travelled into oncoming traffic. The 32-year-old operator of the car, Kristi Moya (11/8/1980), had an invalid driver’s license and no insurance on the vehicle. The Officer conducted an inventory of the vehicle in preparation for impound and discovered narcotics and two illegal knives.

Moya and the passenger, 33-year-old Jessie Longoria (7/30/1980), were arrested for the unlawful weapons and the narcotics, and then delivered to the city detention center.

Corpus Christi Police conducted a pedestrian stop on a 26-year-old man at a hotel parking lot on Leopard and discovered he carried prescription pills not prescribed to him. 26-year-old Eric Deleon (5/19/1987) said he was unsure that there was anything illegal in his pants pockets because he had just put on the pants. Deleon was arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs and delivered to the city detention center.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 358 at Interstate Highway 37 Thursday morning and arrested 29-year-old Raymond Vela (1/16/1984) for Driving While Intoxicated. Vela drove his blue 2004 Hyundai Tiburon 2 door car into the concrete barrier at 3:16am. No other vehicle was involved and no person was injured. Vela was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation and to collect a specimen of his blood, and then delivered to the city detention center.
