Pizza State Burglary Suspect

 On April 23, 2014, at about 11:39 PM, Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to an alarm at a business located at 6133 Ennis Joslin Rd., Pizza State Restaurant. Officers found that entry to the business was made through a back glass door.   Video images show a male subject, wearing a light colored t shirt and a possible tattoo on the back side of his upper right arm.  Anyone who can identify the individual responsible, or has any additional information about this crime should call the Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives at 886-2841. Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to the Homewood Suites, 5201 Highway 286 Access Rd. in reference to a disturbance with a burglary suspect in the parking lot. The 33 year old victim and several of his co workers, found that items had been removed from inside of a company vehicle. The victim contacted the on duty security guard to report the missing items and while reporting the incident, they observed, James Bruso (08/04/1972), walking nearby carrying one of their backpacks. When the victim confronted Mr. Bruso, he fled on foot. The suspect was chased and then caught and detained until police officers arrived. Mr. Bruso sustained a laceration above his eye during the struggle and was taken to a hosital for stitches prior to being booked at the City Dention Center.

Man Acts As ATM Repairman To Steal Cash

TIME: 8:00 PM and 8:37 PM
LOCATION: 4302 South Alameda St. and 11201 Leopard St.
OFFENSE: Theft from a Building (PC 31.03 State Jail Felony)
CASE # 1404120142  and 1404170016

On 04/12/2014, at about 8:00 PM Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to 4302 S Alameda, The Stripes Store for a theft. The 32 year old store clerk told officers that a white male, 6`02“, 45-50 years of age, 200-215 lbs, wearing a black/white baseball cap, grey button up shirt and black pants, walked into the store and began servicing the ATM machine. She stated the suspect unlocked the ATM and used a combination to access the safe inside. The clerk became suspicious of the activity because no service was due on the ATM machine and she contacted the store manager. The manager attempted to speak to the suspect by phone; however the suspect took a cassette from inside the safe which contained money. The suspect then placed the cash inside a deposit bag and left the location in a blue Ford Mustang. The person involved in this case is also a possible suspect in another theft involving cash removed from an ATM at the The Stripes Store located at 11201 Leopard St. In this case, a white male wearing a green hooded shirt and jeans entered the store on April 16 at 8:37 PM. He walked toward the ATM, and is then seen walking out of the store with what appears to be the money from the ATM. Burglary to a Building at 10900 Leopard St.

On April 14 officers responded to 10900 Leopard St,  for a burglary of a building.  A witness reported hearing an audible alarm and then saw a silver Ford Expedition leaving the area.   Entry to the business was made by forcing open the front door.  The suspect removed a cash register from the store and fled in a vehicle.  The suspect is a male about 30 years of age, with a mustache, and was wearing a “Dallas Cowboys” sweat shirt with a hood.  Anyone who can identify the individuals responsible, or has any additional information about this crime should call the Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives at 886-2841. Suspect Vehicle involved in burglaries of homes under construction

Sometime between  6 PM on April 23 and 7 AM May 2  suspects entered a home in the 2900 block of Alta Gigoniella that is under construction through a dinning room window with a pry tool causing damage to the window frame and breaking the glass. While inside the suspects removed an oven and unsuccessfully attempted to remove the GE microwave unit.  The subjects exited the house through the front door. Sometime between 11 PM on May 1 and 7 AM on May 2 suspects entered a home in the  3600 block of  WL Breeding Dr.that is under construction by forcing their way in  through a back window and stole an electric range. The suspects also attempted to remove a refrigerator.  The refrigerator was left in the backyard because the suspects got the fridge stuck in the mud.  Still images show a Red Chevrolet 4 door truck, with what appears to be white fishing rod holders affixed in the bed of the truck. The truck appears to have “low profile” chrome wheels and “low profile” tires. It appears to be to be a 2004-2007 year model with very bright fog lamps.

Man Steals $50,000 Dollars Worth of Jewelry From Store on SPID

Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives would like help from the public to identify and locate a man who stole $50,000 dollars worth of jewelry from a store located on South Padre Island Drive near Greenwood. Corpus Christi Police responded to a theft complaint at a store which had a security safe left unlocked and a man went behind the counter, took the jewelry from the safe and left the store without paying for the merchandise. The man is described as a 15-19 year old male with medium brown skin, 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 160 pounds, and wore a black hoodie and blue jeans. Detectives believe a woman was also involved in the theft and describe her as a 15-19 year old female about 5 feet 2 inches tall, with medium brown skin, brown hair and wore a black t-shirt, gray pants, black shoes and had a tan purse.

Police Arrest Woman For Murder on Capitan Drive

Offense: Murder (Penal Code Section 19.02) 1st Degree Felony

Corpus Christi Police arrested 24-year-old Courtney Hayden (2/6/1990) for murder at an apartment located at 2206 Capitan Drive Wednesday night. Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of a shooting at 9:52pm and found Hayden at the apartment and a 33-year-old man with obvious injuries which appeared to the Officers to be caused by gunshots. The 33-year-old man was taken to the hospital by ambulance but died at the hospital. The Officers at the scene obtained information that two other people were at the apartment at the time of the event, but fled in a vehicle prior to law enforcement arrival. Other Officers searched the area and found the vehicle with the two other people and then brought them to Corpus Christi Police Robbery/Homicide Detectives to be interviewed. Officers arrested Hayden for murder and delivered her to the city detention center.

Police Arrest Man for Indecency With a Child

A 43-year-old man surrendered to law enforcement after the Corpus Christi Police obtained an arrest warrant from the Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 for indecent exposure incidents at Wilson Elementary. Jesus Hurtado (2/1/1971) was taken into custody at the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office at 4:22pm after Hurtado voluntarily surrendered. Hurtado is charged with indecency with a child, a 3rd degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. The bond for Hurtado was set at $100,000 dollars.

Man Steals $3,000 Worth of Electronics From Store, Sought by Police

The Corpus Christi Police would like help from the public to identify and locate a man accused of theft from a store located at 3829 Highway 77 on March 19, 2014. A 30-year-old man reported the theft to the Corpus Christi Police Department and explained that an unknown man went to the electronics section of the store, took seven ipads with a total value of over $3,100 dollars from the case, concealed the electronics, and walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise. The 30-year-old man provided an image of the man who took the electronics and Detectives would like help from the public to identify this man. The man is described as a 30-year-old male with medium brown skin, 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 170 pounds, and wore all black with a Houston Texans ball cap and he had a tattoo on the right side of his neck and a tattoo below his left eye.

Man Steals Furniture From Store, Now Sought By Detectives

The Corpus Christi Police would like help from the public to identify and locate a man accused of burglary from a store located at 2626 South Padre Island Drive on March 12, 2014. Corpus Christi Police responded to a burglary alarm at the closed business at 3:39am on March 12, 2014. Officers discovered the front door was damaged and a 32-year-old store representative told Officers that four pieces of furniture with a total value of over $1,000 dollars was missing from the store. The 32-year-old woman provided images from the store surveillance camera system to Detectives and described the suspect as a man with medium brown skin, a mustache, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches tall, about 150 pounds, and wore blue jeans and a white Hoodie. The store surveillance camera times did not display the correct time in the images.
