The case has been turned over to the Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Detectives who will continue their investigation.

Facebook has become another outlet other than Craig’s List to sell stuff we no longer need or want, but the Police Department asks that you exercise caution.  The following are several safety tips to follow if you decide to use this avenue to market your property.

  • Don’t post personal information on your ad or post.
  • A home or cell phone number can be used in a reverse lookup and will show a billing or home address along with owner information.
  • Communicate with the buyer/seller only through e-mail until you decide if you want to go through with the transaction.
  • Make sure you feel at ease with the buyer/seller.
  • Bring a friend or two and always meet during the day, preferably in a public place.
  • Never agree to meet at your home.
  • Ask for an identification card or driver’s license in case there’s a problem with the transaction.
