Police Seek Help To Identify Man Who Steals Video Cameras on Texan Trail

The Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives would like help from the public to identify and locate a man responsible for thefts on the 300 block of Texan Trail.

A man has stolen 5 video cameras worth over $2,000 dollars from a parking garage in three separate events in the past eight months. The most recent event happened at about 9:00pm on Thursday, February 7, 2013.

Police Investigators believe the same man is responsible for all three thefts.  Images of the man were captured in each event. The suspect in each event operated a red Jeep Grand Cherokee with no front license plate displayed.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 30 years of age, about six feet tall with a slender build. The suspect wore a camouflaged cap, white button up shirt and blue jeans and had a light beard.

The Corpus Christi Police Department would like help from the public to locate 33-year-old Donna Chamberlain (3/24/1979). Chamberlain is wanted for six counts of illegal use of credit cards in Corpus Christi.

Chamberlain is described as a white female, 5 foot 5 inches tall, 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Her last known address was in Corpus Christi.

Man Arrested in Flour Bluff Homicide

Corpus Christi Police Department Homicide/Robbery arrested 47-year-old Mark Baker in connection with the February 12, 2013 stabbing death of a 24-year-old man.  A warrant was obtained for Baker after he was positively identified by a witness as being involved in the murder. Baker was arrested on February 14, 2013 at 10501 S. Padre Island Drive.

Through their continued investigation Homicide/Robbery Detectives were able to determine that Baker was not the individual responsible for the homicide.  Baker was released from the Nueces County Jail and charges were dismissed.

On late Friday afternoon, February 15, 2013, Marty William Warford (08/08/65) was served with an arrest warrant for Murder in connection with this investigation.  Warford accompanied by his attorney turned himself to Homicide/Robbery Detectives shortly after the warrant was obtained.

Man Charged with Vandalizing Billboard

Corpus Christi Graffiti Detective S. Smith obtained a warrant for the 17-year-old male who was responsible for vandalizing the billboard at Crosstown and Horne.  The damages are estimated at $1,700.

Jordan Andrew Sanchez (02/23/95) was arrested on February 17, 2013 along with Marcus G. Garcia (12/20/94) at 2821 Niagara.  Sanchez was charged with the outstanding warrant for Graffiti which is a State Jail Felony punishable by up to two years in a state jail and a $10,000.  His bond was set at $25,000.  Garcia was charged with an outstanding warrant for Assault.

 

Apologetic Bandit Robs Convenience Store

A local convenience store employee reported to police a man walked into the store armed with a handgun and robbed her.

The 30-year-old woman told Officers she heard the door alarm and turned to find the suspect holding a firearm and demanded money from the register.  The robber apologized and fled with an undetermined amount of money.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 20 to 29 years of age, 5’5” to 5’8” feet tall and weighing 150 to 170 lbs.  He was seen wearing a dark-colored shorts and a hoodie.

Police Seek Identity of Woman Connected to Burglary

                The Corpus Christi Police Department Auto Theft Task Force would like help from the public to identify and locate a woman who used stolen credit cards.

Corpus Christi Police began an investigation for a burglary of a motor vehicle at a residence on the 13700 block of Hawksnest Bay Drive on January 31, 2013. A laptop computer, credit cards and a cellular telephone were stolen from 1998 Mercury Mountaineer.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have obtained video of a woman who used the stolen credit cards at a convenience store located at the 14500 block of South Padre Island Drive. The woman is described as a white female about 5 feet 6 inches tall, 120 pounds with brown hair who wore sunglasses, a black hooded sweater and a pink shirt with white writing.

Police Arrest Murder Suspect on Traffic Stop on Up River Road

The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitives Task Force Arrested 29-year-old Anthony Diaz (9/21/1983) for Murder Wednesday afternoon on a traffic stop on Up River Road and Villa Drive.

The Corpus Christi Police Department Robbery/Homicide Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Diaz in relation to the murder Monday morning at Morgan Avenue and 15th Street. The bond on the warrant was set at $1 Million dollars.

The Corpus Christi Police Department thanks the members of the community who were able to provide information about this crime.

Warrant Obtained in Bentwood Lane Murder

DavidDasheillChristyCorpus Christi Police Homicide/Robbery Detectives have obtained two warrants for the February 4, 2013 death of a 77-year-old Corpus Christi woman.

The woman’s grandson David Dasheill Christy (02/13/85) was originally arrested and charged with Assault~Bodily Injury~Public Servant, Evading Arrest, and Resisting Arrest the same day Christy’s grandmother was first reported missing and found murdered.

The investigation was presented to  the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office and two warrants for Murder and Tampering with Evidence were obtained.

Christy who was still in custody at the Nueces County Jail was served with the two warrants.  A $200,000 bond was set on the Murder charge and a $100,000 bond on the Tampering with Evidence charge.

Police Begin Death Investigation On Bentwood Lane

The Corpus Christi Police Department has begun an investigation that they are treating as a homicide at 3814 Bentwood Lane after a deceased person was found in a shallow grave in the back yard of that home.

The Corpus Christi Police Department was called by a San Antonio man on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 5:50pm to request a welfare check on a 77-year-old woman. The responding Patrol Officers received no answer at the door, and the woman’s vehicle and personal items were at the residence.

Investigating officers were provided information that a 27-year-old man lived in the home with the woman and they began a search for the man and the 77-year-old woman. The 27-year-old man, David Christy (2/13/1985) was found near the 6400 block of Weber Road at 8:30pm.

Christy ran and fought with police and then was arrested for Assault on a Public Servant, Evading Arrest, and Resisting Arrest, search or Transport. One patrol officer received a minor hand injury during the arrest.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives applied for a search warrant for the home on Bentwood and discovered a shallow grave in the back yard. The grave contained human remains which were collected by the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office and have not yet been identified.

Police Search for 77 Year Old Woman From Bentwood Drive

Corpus Christi Police are searching for a 77-year-old woman from a home on the 3800 block of Bentwood Drive Monday night.
A San Antonio man called the Corpus Christi Police Department at 5:49pm Monday afternoon after he was unable to contact his 77-year-old mother. Corpus Christi Police Officers checked the woman’s home less than 10 minutes after having received the welfare concern call by the San Antonio man. The officers saw the woman’s vehicle in the driveway and her cane inside the car. The information provided to police officers was that the 77-year-old woman was not able to walk without the use of her cane and the car was her only mode of transportation.
There was no answer at the door. Police Officers were given information that the 77-year-old woman’s 27-year-old grandson resided at the house with her. Officers searched for the 27-year-old man until he was found at the 6000 block of Weber Road at 8:30pm. The 27-year-old man ran from police, but was detained by police officers.
Corpus Christi Police Detectives have applied for a search warrant to enter the house to search for clues to locate the 77-year-old woman. The 77-year-old woman is Johanna Christy and Corpus Christi Police would like any information the any person may have which may locate Christy.
