Corpus Christi Police search for a missing 23-year-old disabled woman, Brittany Gonzales has ended. Gonzales who was reported missing on 7/15/12 returned voluntarily. We would like to thank the community and the media outlets in our area for their assistance in trying to locate Gonzales.
Further investigation revealed Gonzales left of her own free will and also returned voluntarily. Gonzales who was uninjured was taken to Doctor’s Regional Hospital by CCFD Emergency Personnel for medical evaluation.
Detective R.L. Garcia will continue with his investigation, but no criminal charges are expected to be filed in the case.
Corpus Christi Police are searching for a disabled 23-year-old woman, Brittany Gonzales, who was last seen Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 11:00pm walking on Morgan Avenue toward Alameda Street in Corpus Christi. Brittany Gonzales resides with her grandmother who told police that Brittany took a trip to the Sunrise Foods on Thursday night and never returned home.
Police investigated and located an individual that saw Brittany on Morgan walking toward Alameda. Police would like additional help from the public to find Brittany. Brittany is a 23-year-old Hispanic woman who stands 5 ft. 6 in., 190 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. Brittany is mentally slow from a childhood illness, has a lazy left eye, a large skin graft on her right leg, and 8 amputated fingers.

Jose Alfredo Moreno aka Joey Moreno Wanted for Murder

Officers responded to the Cadillac Bar for a shooting with multiple victims. Upon their arrival, Officers found a 41-year-old man just inside the entrance to the bar with gunshot wounds to the head and chest. A 36-year-old man was found inside the bar with a gunshot to the leg. Both victims were rushed to Spohn Memorial by CCFD Emergency Personnel.
Further investigation revealed the 41-year-old man and the suspect became involved in an altercation. During the disagreement, the suspect drew a firearm and fatally shot the victim, who was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 36-year-old victim was treated and released.
Patrol Officers, Homicide/Robbery Detectives, along with Gang Unit Investigators were able to develop information in their investigations which identified the suspect. Detective R. Lee was able to obtain an arrest warrant on Jose Alfredo Moreno (06/09/83) for Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bond was set at $1,000,000. Moreno is described as a Hispanic male, 5’7″ feet tall and weighing 185 lbs.

Corpus Christi Police Financial Crimes Investigators would like help from the public to identify and locate two individuals that fraudulently used a credit card to purchase products at several stores.
A 41-year-old Corpus Christi man reported to Corpus Christi Police that his credit cards were taken without permission on June 14, 2012. The 41-year-old man told police the cards were used at several locations to conduct unauthorized transactions at several locations which include the Target store in Moore Plaza.
Police Investigators obtained video recordings of the two individuals who participated in the unauthorized use of the credit cards. One of the suspects in this crime is described as a white man with short brown hair, who wore a black short sleeve t-shirt, denim shorts, white socks, and black shoes. The second suspect is described as a white female with blonde hair, who wore a purple short sleeve shirt and denim shorts.
The two suspects in this crime used a red 4 door sedan for transportation.

Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Investigators would like help from the public to identify and locate two men that participated in a theft at the U Pull It auto salvage business.
A 29-year-old man walked out to his car and mistakenly dropped his wallet in the parking lot. The 29-year-old man left the parking lot. The wallet was collected by a man who showed the wallet to a second man. The two men then the two got into a black Ford F-150 pickup truck and drove away without making any effort to locate the owner or return the wallet.
The man who picked up the wallet wore a large black short sleeve t-shirt, denim shorts, and white shoes. The second man wore a tan long sleeve shirt over a white shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

The Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority (ABTPA) is a part of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles that provides oversight and financial support to the problem of auto theft in Texas. The purpose of the annual conference is to share training and update participating law enforcement agencies with industry trends and programs.
The Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority is a network of law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, insurance industry representatives, local tax assessor collectors, and concerned citizen groups. The organization was established in 1991 in the 72nd Texas Legislature to reduce auto theft. The A.B.T.P.A. organization was amended by the 80th Legislature with House Bill 1887 to include burglary.
The A.B.T.P.A. has a summit each year to protect Texans from becoming victims of auto burglary and theft. The summit this year is held in Corpus Christi from June 25 until June 28. The conference hosts a variety of experts that provide information on topics such as Vehicle Identification Number structure, managing undercover operations, salvage yard inspections, cloned vehicles, dealer laws and others.
Those at the conference participate in nightly activities to promote networking. Wednesday night the event was a Harley Davidson Ride. Those without a Harley Davidson motorcycle were provided the opportunity to rent a bike to cruise Ocean Drive and enjoy the Corpus Christi area.
The Corpus Christi Police Auto Theft Task Force is funded by grants provided by the A.B.T.P.A. The Auto Theft Bureau is located on the third floor of the Main Police Station located at 321 John Sartain, Corpus Christi Texas. There was nowhere to hide, yesterday afternoon as police officers scoured the streets looking for three wanted subjects. At 4:15 pm, Officers J. Vela and J. Cantu found Melissa Garza (11/14/82) at Paradise Bay Apartments and arrested her on a Felony Theft Warrant obtained by Property Crimes Detective J. Little. Garza was originally cited for shoplifting $48 worth of store merchandise at H.E.B. Plus on Saratoga. Due to her prior theft convictions, the Class “C” Misdemeanor was upgraded to a Felony. She was arrested and booked on the outstanding warrant. #1204150083
Twenty minutes later, at 4:35 pm, Senior Officer H. Corona checked on wanted suspect Marcus Andrew Brailey and found him at his girlfriend’s. Brailey who was wanted on an Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle warrant obtained by Homicide Detective R. Torres was arrested and booked at the City Detention Center. Brailey’s bond was set $25,000. Brailey is accused of U.U.M.V. stemming from a vehicle taken in a robbery on April 23, 2012. #1204230028
Officer J. Vela booked Garza and went searching for Guadalupe Cruz 910/15/82) and found him at Paradise Bay Apartments. Cruz was arrested and charged with a fresh off the press warrant for Felony Theft obtained by Property Crimes Detective D. Rjasko. Cruz’ bond was also set at $25,000. Cruz is accused of stealing the victim’s jewelry when she provided him with a glass of water. Cruz was part of a flooring crew working inside the victim’s home. #1206090101

A burglar broke into the South Shore Christian Church and left behind a note of apology.
Corpus Christi Police were called to investigate a burglary of a building by the church maintenance worker after broken glass was discovered at the pastor’s office door. The office was in disorder and coins were found on the floor of the office. The staff found a note that read, “Forgive me. I need the money.”
Staff allowed police investigators collect evidence and process the scene. The staff told police investigators a list of missing property would be submitted at a later time once an inventory was complete.

Corpus Christi Police would like help from the public to identify and locate a man who took a bicycle from the Wal-Mart in Callallen without paying.
Monday, May 14, 2012, a white man who wore a blue cap and an orange shirt took a women’s 26 inch Panama Jack bicycle valued at $165 and left the store without paying for the bike. Store employees released a photograph of the man who stole the bike to police.
