Corpus Christi Police are searching for a disabled 23-year-old woman, Brittany Gonzales, who was last seen Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 11:00pm walking on Morgan Avenue toward Alameda Street in Corpus Christi. Brittany Gonzales resides with her grandmother who told police that Brittany took a trip to the Sunrise Foods on Thursday night and never returned home.
Police investigated and located an individual that saw Brittany on Morgan walking toward Alameda. Police would like additional help from the public to find Brittany. Brittany is a 23-year-old Hispanic woman who stands 5 ft. 6 in., 190 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. Brittany is mentally slow from a childhood illness, has a lazy left eye, a large skin graft on her right leg, and 8 amputated fingers.
Anyone with any information to locate Brittany Gonzales should call Corpus Christi Police at 886-2850 to speak to Detective R.L. Garcia.
Additionally; Corpus Christi Police would like the public to know to report any person that may be in danger. There is no time period one must wait before reporting a person as missing. If a person is missing and possibly in some kind of danger, call police immediately.

Simple Traffic Stop Erupts To Felony Arrest

A 30-year-old man was arrested Saturday night for evading arrest and for destruction of evidence and a variety of other charges after a Corpus Christi Police Officer initiated a traffic stop at Everhart and Saratoga for an inoperable license plate light.
The Patrol officer noticed a black Ford F-150 travel north on the 6400 block of Everhart at 11:20pm without an operable license plate light. The patrol officer activated the emergency lights on the patrol car and the truck traveled west on Saratoga Boulevard. The operator of the truck, Joe Hernandez (1/25/1982) refused to stop for the officer. Hernandez threw out a bag of a white substance at Saratoga and Senators. Other police officers recovered the bag and discovered the contents were illegal narcotics.
Hernandez stopped the truck at the corner of Weber and Saratoga, a mile after the officer originally initiated the traffic stop, and Hernandez was arrested for evading arrest or detention in a vehicle, a 3rd degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Officers discovered narcotics inside the vehicle and Hernandez was charged with possession of a controlled substance (a state jail felony) and for tampering with evidence (a Class A misdemeanor).
Officers discovered Hernandez had two warrants for his arrest from Nueces County for Criminal Mischief. The truck was impounded and Hernandez was delivered to the City Detention Center.
Two Boys Apprehended In Violation Of Curfew and Graffiti

A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were taken into custody Saturday night for their connection to $450 worth of damage for graffiti in the area of Sacky and Wharton.
Corpus Christi Police were called at 11:15pm Saturday night for a graffiti complaint. The caller told police that juveniles who were responsible for graffiti were in an orange car and used red paint in the area of Sacky and Wharton.
A Corpus Christi Police Officer saw an orange car with occupants who matched the description of the suspects at Kostoryz and Mansheim. The officer investigated the vehicle and its occupants and discovered evidence of the crime.
A 16-year-old boy and his 15-year-old boy passenger were apprehended and delivered to the Nueces County Juvenile Detention Center for graffiti (a Class B Misdemeanor); for possession of graffiti implements (a Class C Misdemeanor); and for violation of night-time curfew (a Class C Misdemeanor).
Thieves Run From Store Employees Directly To Police

Two were arrested Monday morning after they ran with stolen property past a police officer at 1:35 in the morning near the Wal-Mart on Staples.
Corpus Christi Police Officer Paul Janko patrolled the 4500 block of McGregor and saw a man and a juvenile boy run past his marked patrol car at 1:35am. Officer Janko stopped the two and discovered 20-year-old Juan Sanchez (5/1/1992) and a 16-year-old boy had $78 worth of merchandise from the Wal-Mart and no receipt.
Officer Janko took the two back to Wal-Mart and investigated the possible theft. Wal-Mart employees verified that Sanchez and the juvenile had taken the merchandise without paying and then ran from the store until they ran past Officer Janko.
The merchandise was returned to the store and Sanchez was arrested for theft, a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to 6 months in jail and up to a $2,000 fine. Sanchez was also arrested for inducing night curfew punishable by a fine up to $200.
The 16-year-old juvenile was referred to the juvenile court and delivered to the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center for the theft and for violation of night curfew.
Two Arrested for Racing on Shoreline

Officer C. Meer was at the Corpus Christi Art Center for a call for service when he observed a white Chrysler 300 and a Ford Mustang racing on Shoreline Boulevard. The Officer was not able to catch up to them until the two vehicles slowed down on Furman Avenue. Both vehicles were attempting to make a u-turn when the Officer was able to pull them over.
Both denied racing, one told Officers he was on the way to work, while the other did know why she was being pulled over. Michelle Hernandez (07/12/86) and Christopher Silva (12/19/86) were both arrested and charged with Racing on Highway.
Hernandez was additionally charged with Driving While License Invalid and Child Passenger Safety Seat Offense 8 Years when her four-year-old son was not buckled in an approved child safety seat.
The “Racing” and Driving While License Suspended charges are Class “B” Misdemeanors and both are punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine. Hernandez’ third charge for an unapproved safety seat is a Class “C” Misdemeanor and punishable by a fine up to $500.
The four-year-old was uninjured and release to the 18-year-old passenger.
50-Year-Old Assaulted by Strangers in Hotel Parking Lot

Officers responding to a fight call at a local hotel arrived to find chaos reigning in the parking lot with suspects fleeing in two separate vehicles.
Police were able to pull over one of the suspect vehicles with four suspects inside. The four were positively identified by a witness who told Officers they began to assault the victim punching and kicking him in face and head. The motive for the assault was unknown as Officers were unable to talk to the victim who was taken to Spohn Memorial with facial injuries, possibly a broken nose.
Robert Rodriguez Sr. (07/18/65) and Robert Rodriguez Jr. (05/06/85), Jeremy Andrew Valdez (04/19/89) and John A. Valdez (02/12/75) were all arrested and booked at the City Detention Center. All four were charged with Assault, a Class “A” Misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
Robert Rodriguez Sr. refused to provide his name to Officers and charged additionally charged with Failure to Identify. Robert Rodriguez Jr. was also found to have an outstanding Municipal Court warrant for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility with a fine of $423, John Valdez was also charged with two outstanding Municipal Court warrant for Speeding in a School Zone with a fine of $207.10.
Wide Array of Drugs Seized in Afternoon Raid, Two Arrested

The Corpus Christi Narcotics and Vice Investigation Division assisted by the SWAT Team served a search and arrest warrant at 337 Norton Street this afternoon. Investigators seized the following narcotics from the residence:
Marijuana~ 36.85 ounces/2.30 lbs with a street value of $1,000
Powder Cocaine~36 grams with a street value of $1,800
Crack Cocaine~23.3 grams with a street value of $1,000
Black Tar Heroin~884.97 grams/31.6 ounces/1.98 lbs with a street value of $85,000
Hydrocodone Pills~110.4 grams with a street value of $700
Dwayne Dimas (09/12/76) a known gang member and Sophia B. Dimas (06/22/78) were both arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The charge is a 1st Degree Felony is punishable by up to 99 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Captain David Cook states, “The investigation is ongoing and there may be additional arrests before the investigation is concluded.”
Bank Robber Arrested In Flour Bluff

A 58-year-old man was arrested Thursday for a bank robbery in Flour Bluff.
Corpus Christi Police Officer David Mihalco responded to a bank robbery at the Navy Army Federal Credit Union in Flour Bluff. The dispatcher announced information that the bank robber was a white man who wore a blue and white cap, gray shirt, and blue jeans that left in a white Mazda. The dispatcher then provided the license plate number of the vehicle operated by the suspect.
Officer Mihalco noticed a parked Mazda truck parked in a driveway on Lakeside Drive. Officer Mihalco investigated and discovered the unoccupied truck was the same used in the bank robbery. Officer Mihalco stayed with the truck while other patrol officers searched for the suspect.
Officer Rodney Cantu searched the area near the truck and located a man who matched the suspect description in the area of Claride Street and Lakeside Drive. The man, Michael Richey (9/29/1953) ran from Officer Cantu until cornered in a fenced area in front of a business. Richey then presented a black object with a handle that appeared to Officer Cantu as a handgun. Richey threw the object to the ground. Richey slowly complied with officers instructions to get to the ground, but then reached for the object thrown to the ground. Officers placed Richey in handcuffs, and then discovered the object Richey threw to the ground was a plastic spray paint handle that had an appearance of a pistol.
Corpus Christi Police Robbery Detectives arrived at the bank and verified Richey was responsible for the robbery. Detectives determined all suspects in this event were in police custody.
No person was injured at the bank. Richey is accused of entering the bank and demanding money with the threat of force from the bank teller. Richey left the bank with an undetermined amount of money. All the money was recovered and it is too early in the investigation to determine if Richey is connected to any other robbery.
Richey was arrested for Aggravated Robbery, a first degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Richey was also charged with evading arrest, a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine.
Thieves Caught Stealing From Senior Apartments

Two men were arrested Wednesday accused of stealing $20,000 of air conditioning metal from the Coastal Haven Senior Apartments.
Corpus Christi Police were called by a witness who saw two men disassemble exterior air conditioning units at the Coastal Haven Senior Apartments near midnight. The two men ran from the scene in different directions until one of the men, Raymond Dubberke (11/10/1968) was stopped by a police officer.
A uniformed Corpus Christi Police Officer on his way home in his personal vehicle after having finished a shift had his portable radio on and heard the call. The off duty police officer saw the second suspect, Robert Curry (8/3/1972), cross Saratoga Boulevard at Player Street. Curry was stopped by the off duty officer until a marked patrol car could take Curry back to the scene of the crime.
Evidence was collected and the estimated value of the components taken from five apartments was valued at $20,000. The air conditioning components were recovered and returned to the apartment management.
Duberrke and Curry were arrested for Burglary of a Building, a state jail felony punishable by up to 2 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine, and for Theft of Metal, also a state jail felony.
Police Seek Bank Robber At Ayers And Gollihar

Corpus Christi Police investigated a bank robbery Wednesday at the Texas Champion Bank at Gollihar and Ayers in which a man entered the bank, presented a teller with a note that demanded cash, and then the man left with some cash.
Investigating Police Officers are relieved no person was injured. Corpus Christi Police are searching for a white man that wore a blue Corpus Christi Hooks baseball cap, a dark blue t-shirt, and faded blue jean shorts as the man responsible for the robbery. The man stated on the note that he had a gun, but no weapon was displayed in this event.
The man presented a note that demanded cash, received an undetermined amount of cash, then left and was last seen on foot east on Gollihar.
