OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING – ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RELEASE

As is our practice we are releasing the information of the officer who was involved in the shooting on September 10, 2019.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer has been placed on paid administrative leave. The administrative leave is in accordance with current department practice and policy.

Senior Officer William Hobbs has been a police officer with the Corpus Christi Police Department for 12 years.

HELP US IDENTIFY AGGRAVATED ROBBERY SUSPECTS

Corpus Christi Police Department Investigators need your help identifying suspects believed to be involved in at least one aggravated robbery of a convenience store.

On September 02,2019 Officers were dispatched to a convenience store located near Airline and Alameda for an Aggravated Robbery. While in the commission of the Robbery, one of the males displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. The suspects were able to get away with undisclosed amount of cash.

MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED

On September 1, 2019 at approximately 4:22 am Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 500 N Shoreline, reference suspicious persons in the area. Officers arrived on scene and located a 53-year-old deceased male.

Through their investigation and with the help of tips from the public; Detectives identified a suspect and obtained a Murder Warrant for 18-year-old Victor Padilla. Victor Padilla was arrested on September 04, 2019 by Corpus Christi Police Officers and was later transported to the Nueces County Jail on the Murder Warrant ($500,000 Bond).

On July 13, 2019 Senior Officer Michael Munoz and Officer Armando Cisneros were following up on a shot fired call that occurred the day before at on the 6800 block of Everhart at convenience store.

Through their investigation they believed that the suspects involved in the shooting had also been involved in several auto burglaries that occurred on the south side of town. As the officers continued their investigation, they were alerted to a subject breaking into vehicles in the area of 6700 Everhart. When the officers arrived, they contacted a juvenile suspect and found him in possession of a stolen handgun and several items taken from other burglaries. It was found that the juvenile suspect had been involved in twelve auto burglaries, two criminal mischief’s, a shooting, and an aggravated assault over a two-day period.

S/O Michael Munoz and Officer Armando Cisneros are recognized as Officers of the Month for their dedication to duty and for enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of Corpus Christi.

Police need your assistance locating 2 missing people

Corpus Christi Police detectives would like your help locating 2 missing people.

Bradley Brooks (06/28/1983) was last seen on 08/18/2019 by his girlfriend. His vehicle was towed from the area 200 NAS after being found abandoned for a few days.  It was at the end of Stingray Road where people go to fish. He has not been heard from since the 18th. Bradley has a tattoo on his chest shaped as a horse shoe with the saying of “We all fall short of the glory of God” and angel wings tattooed on his right forearm. He also has scars on the back of his head.

Vanessa Pecina 07/03/1983 was last seen on or before August 27, 2019. Venessa was seen getting into a red vehicle at the curve on Queen Dr.  It is unknown who was driving the vehicle or where she went.  Venessa has multiple tattoos on her arm, shoulder and chest.

New age limit for tobacco products

Cigarettes

Effective September 1, 2019 the new legal age to purchase cigarettes, e-cigarettes or tobacco products will change to 21 years of age. It is also a violation to sell, give or cause to be sold or given to an individual under the age of 21 years of age.

A violation will be classified as a Class C Misdemeanor which includes a fine up to $500.

There is an exception to the law if you are 18 years of age and present at the time of purchase a valid military identification card of the United States military forces or the state military forces.

The Health District’s Environmental and Consumer Health Division will continue to respond to smoking complaints in food establishments and other public venues where smoking is prohibited. The new law will not affect the Health District’s processes since they respond to all smoking complaints regardless of age.

IMPROPER RELATIONSHIP WITH STUDENT

The Corpus Christi Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) has initiated an investigation in which 58-year-old male, Marlon Frazier, was soliciting a minor female to engage in sexual activity.

Marlon Frazier has been arrested by the Corpus Christi Police Department and is currently in custody for one count of Improper Relationship between an Educator and Student (2F).

WANTED SUBJECT

Corpus Christi Detectives are asking for your help to locate 41-year-old Noe Recio (06/17/1978) who has four outstanding felony warrants; FTA-Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon (No Bond), Aggravated Assault Impeding Breath/Circulation (No Bond), Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon ($30,00 Bond), Aggravated Sexual Assault ($50,000 Bond). Recio also has three outstanding misdemeanor warrants with a total of $15,000 bond.

Recio is described as a 41-year-old male, who is 6′ 01″ but is wheel-chair bound, weighs approximately 220 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
