A Corpus Christi Police Officer was patrolling in the area of IH 69 and Cornett Drive. The officer observed a male walking from the area of the Home Depot carrying a large object under a dark colored jacket. The officer made contact with the 32 year old male suspect who was acting very nervous. The suspect was carrying a new chainsaw still in the box with the security device still attached. The officer questioned the suspect and was not buying the suspects story. The suspect was detained while another officer went to the Home Depot and contacted a supervisor. The supervisor advised that the suspect came in to the store, took a chainsaw and left without paying for it. Officers arrested Sean Matthew Fitch (05-18-1985) and transported him to the City Detention Center. The chainsaw was returned to the store.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 15820 SPID (Bob Hall Pier) in reference to a robbery. The call advised that a male and female with tattoos assaulted a male and took his red Chevy Camero convertible. As officers were going to the call they observed a vehicle matching the description and stopped it at the Stripes in the 14500 block of SPID. Officers made contact with the 55 year old male victim. The victim advised that he was with the 29 year old female and the 36 year old male suspect. The vehicle stopped near Bob Hall pier. Witnesses told officers that they saw the male suspect jump out of the car and pull the victim out of the passenger side door. The female suspect started driving away dragging the victim while the suspect was punching and kicking him. The victim let go of the car,  the female suspect turned the car around, picked up the male and drove away. The victim advised that the assault caused him a lot of pain and was checked at the scene by CCFD Medics. Officers arrested Hope LeeAnn Clark (01-04-1988) and Michael Gerard Falcon (05-04-1981) and transported them to the City Detention Center. The vehicle was released to the victim at the scene.

Patrol Report October 2, 2017

Offense: DWI, Failure to Notify and Report a Crash

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to the area of 4600 SPID in reference to a hit and run. Officers arrived and were contacted by witnesses. The witnesses advised that a grey or silver Infinity backed into a car in the parking lot of Gator’s and then struck a black suv as he sped out of the parking lot. The impact caused the suv to lose control and hit three parked vehicles in a dealership parking lot. The witnesses gave officers a license plate which returned to an address on 4900 Dubose. Officers went to the location and observed a grey Infinity with frontend damage in the driveway. Officers observed a male who attempted to walk inside the residence when he saw police. Officers called out to the suspect and he stopped as they made contact. Officers determined that he was the driver of the vehicle and he was involved in the crashes at 4600 SPID. Officers could detect a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath, his speech was slurred and he was on his feet. Officers were able to develop enough probable cause to arrest Anthony Trevino (01-21-1989) for DWI and transport him to the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 2000 Braeswood in reference to a shooting with injuries. Upon arrival officers contacted the 40 year old male victim and the 41 year old female suspect. Officers were able to determine that no one had been shot. Officers investigated and learned that the couple had been drinking and got into an argument over the suspect moving out. The victim advised that the suspect went into her room and grabbed a gun. The suspect came out and pointed the gun at the victims chest and leg. The victim advised that he feared for his life and grabbed the gun and pointed it away from him. When he did this several shots were fired. When the two were struggling over the gun and the suspect bit his left bicep. The victim was able to get the gun away from the suspect. Officers arrested  Jackeline Barrera Ramirez (11-17-1975) and transported her to the City Detention Center.

Offense: Injury to a Elderly, Criminal Mischief

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to the area of Port and Tarlton in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival officers observed the 34 year old female suspect standing next to a vehicle. She was unsteady on her feet, she had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her breath and her speech was slurred. Officers detained her while they investigated. Officers contacted the 70 year old male victim and observed blood inside his vehicle.  The victim had injuries to his face and his clothing was in disarray. The victim advised that he picked up the suspect with the intention to meet with her son. He stated that suspect became upset because she could not locate him. The victim stated that the suspect began punching the interior of the vehicle and then broke the front windshield. The victim told the suspect to stop damaging his vehicle. He stated that the suspect began punching him in the face and body. The victim stopped the vehicle at Port and Tarlton where the suspect continued to hit him. The victim stated that the suspect hit him with a closed fist in the face and then bit him on the right forearm and left shoulder. The suspect only stopped when the victim grabbed her phone and threw it out of the car. Officers observed the victim to have a bloody nose and bite marks to his forearm and shoulder. Officers arrested Korina Ann Guzman (03-11-1983). While in the backseat of the patrol unit, Korina began banging her head on the plexiglass. Officers were moving her to another unit when she attempted to bite one of the officers. She was transported to the City Detention Center.

 

 

 

 

MULTI AGENCY OPERATION SHUTS DOWN LOCAL DRUG TRAFFICKER

A combined narcotics investigation involving agents from the DEA, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Corpus Christi Police Department Narcotics/Vice Investigations Division resulted in the disruption of a south side drug trafficking operation early Friday.  At approximately 8:00 am, investigators from all three agencies served a search warrant on a residence in the 4900 block of Monitor Street.  During the search, officers found and seized approximately 30 pounds of marijuana, a small quantity of methamphetamine, three handguns, a rifle, a shotgun, and over six-hundred dollars in cash.  One of the firearms was discovered to be stolen, and a second had the serial number obliterated. The suspect, a 53-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital after he complained of chest pains.  He is facing felony charges for manufacture and delivery of marijuana, along with possible felony charges for possession of a stolen firearm and tampering with serial numbers. Today’s bust is yet another prime example of the cooperative efforts between the CCPD and Federal Agencies to combat drug trafficking in our community.

HELP US IDENTIFY TWO ROBBERY SUSPECTS

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a Robbery at 9:27 AM at the Postal Employees Credit Union located at 6810 Saratoga Blvd.

The Reporting Party told Officers two men walked in, jumped over the counter and demanded money.  No injuries were reported.  The men were able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money and were last seen traveling southbound on foot.

Investigators are still searching for the suspects in this case.  The males were described as Hispanic males, one standing 5’7” and the other standing 5’2”; both males were observed to be wearing blue jeans, long sleeve tan shirts, hard hats, sunglasses, gloves, yellow reflective vests and both had some type of cloth or material covering the bottom portion of their faces.

Patrol Report September 28, 2017

Offense: Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 4100 Nolford Pl. in reference to a disturbance with a gun being pointed at someone. Officers arrived and contacted the 25 year old male victim. He advised that he and his father (the suspect) had a disturbance earlier over a puppy being in side the house. The police responded to that call earlier and the argument continued after they left. The victim advised that the suspect went in to his bedroom and pulled out a handgun. The victim stated that the suspect pointed the gun at him and said he would shoot that dog. The victim feared that the suspect would shoot him. The suspect was inside the residence as officers tried to contact him and were eventually able to get him to come outside. Officers arrested James R. Marek (05-23-1959) and transport him to the City Detention Center. The weapon was located and tagged as evidence.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 800 Ohio Ave. in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival officers made contact with the male victim. He advised that he and his girlfriend were having a argument and that she hit him over the head with a plate. The victim had a laceration and dried blood on his head. Officers made contact with the suspect. After talking with both parties, officers arrested Nicole M. Ortiz (01-11-1986) for assault and transported her to the City Detention Center.

NARCOTICS/VICE OFFICERS ARREST FLOUR BLUFF DRUG TRAFFICKER

A months long investigation into drug trafficking in the Flour Bluff area ended Tuesday night when CCPD Narcotics/Vice Investigations Division Investigators, with the assistance of Operations Division Officers, arrested a twenty-seven year old Corpus Christi man.  Operations Division Officers arrested Aaron Pena (05/14/1990) for an outstanding Nueces County Warrant during a traffic stop on the 3700 block of Way Out Weber Road.  While searching Pena, Officers seized approximately three-quarters of an ounce of crystal methamphetamine.  While searching the car, Officers found and seized a clear plastic bag containing approximately one ounce of alprazolam pills.  The driver of the car, Fortino Silvas (02/12/1993) was subsequently arrested as well.  Both men were charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a controlled substance and booked at the City Detention Center.  NVID Officers followed up with a search warrant on an apartment on the 900 block of Green Bay, which resulted in the seizure of a small amount of heroin.  Additional arrests as a result of this ongoing investigation are anticipated.

Offense: Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Evading Arrest, Warrant of Arrest

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 2754 S. Staples in reference to a shooting with injuries. Officers arrived and made contact with the clerk. He advised that a male came into the store and advised that he had been shot and he was on his way to the emergency room. Officers were in formed that the victim was driving a white and black vehicle. Officers went to Drs. Regional Hospital and made contact with the 25 year old male victim. The victim and a witness advised that they were going to meet a female in the area of Ayers and Date street. When they arrived a male suspect got out of a vehicle and pointed a gun at the victim. The suspect fired a shot through the door of the victims vehicle striking the victim and then fled the scene. Officers were taken to the location of the shooting by a witness in the 1400 block of Date St.

Officers made contact with the occupants at the apartment. Officers investigated and were able to get a name and location of the suspect. Officers went to the area of 2900 Seagull Blvd. to make contact with the suspect. As officers were approaching they observed the suspect matching the description they were given earlier walking from a house. When the suspect observed officers walking towards him he started running back towards the house. As he was running officers told him to stop, he continued running dropping a small black bag. The suspect made it inside the house but was taken into custody. Inside the black bag was marijuana, methamphetamine and approximately 28 pills. The suspect was also found to have an active warrant for aggravated assault. Officers arrested David Martinez (12-29-1978) and transported him to the City Detention Center.
