SECOND ARREST MADE IN DEATH OF 1-YEAR-OLD

At approximately 3:05 pm on Monday May 10th officers were dispatched to the 6400 block of Weber for an unconscious infant.

When the officers arrived, they located a 1-year-old child who was not responsive. Officers attempted to provide life-saving measures before medics arrived and transported the child to a local hospital, where she later passed from her injuries.

Detectives with the Family Violence Section of the Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene in an effort to investigate. During the investigation they discovered enough cause to arrest the mother’s boyfriend, 31-year-old Mark Hernandez, for Injury to a Child.

Investigators continued their investigation and on June 06, 2021, a warrant was applied for and secured for the mother of the child, 23-year-old Briana Garcia.

On June 09, 2021, Briana Garcia was arrested on the outstanding warrant for Injury to a Child by Omission ($500,00 Bond). Briana was interviewed by Investigators and was later transported to the City Detention Center for processing.

PRESS RELEASE REFERENCE AMBER/CLEAR ALERT

At approximately 8:50 am this morning, Jezabel and Zaylee Zamora were located safely at a residence on the 6400 block of Weber. Jezabel and Zaylee have since been reunited with their family.

The arrests of Kristian Garcia and Rodrick Garcia, along with the recovery of Jezabel and Zaylee Zamora were the direct result of countless hours of diligent investigation and teamwork with our federal counterparts.

Kristian Garcia was taken into police custody at approximately 9:00 am on several outstanding warrants for: Murder ($1,000,000 Bond), Aggravated Robbery ($100,000 bond), and two counts of Aggravated Kidnapping.  Kristian Garcia will be transported to the City Detention Center for processing.

Rodrick Garcia was arrested at approximately 2:00 pm on June 09, 2021 on the 5100 block of Flynn Parkway.  Rodrick was charged with the following outstanding warrants: Kidnapping ($100,000 Bond) and two additional warrants out of Victoria County for Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 and Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2.

WARRANT ISSUED FOR KIDNAPPING ACCOMPLICE

In relation to the Kidnapping investigation from June 08, 2021, investigators have identified an accomplice that worked alongside Kristian Garcia.  As a result, a warrant has been secured for 26-year-old Rodrick Garcia for Kidnapping ($100,000 Bond). 

Rodrick is described as a white male, who stands 5’08”, weighs approximately 165 pounds, with dark brown hair and brown eyes. 

Investigators are still seeking assistance from the public to locate the whereabouts of Jezabel and Zaylee Zamora, if you see either, please call 911 immediately. 

Both pictures of Rodrick are from 2020, he may or may not currently have facial hair.

AMBER ALERT/ CLEAR ALERT

Update: We can confirm that the White Cadillac Escalade that was used in the kidnapping has been recovered by officers. We are no longer looking for that vehicle. At this time, we do not have verified information to release about a new vehicle. As soon as we have credible and verified information to release, we will do so on our blotter page.

Location: 6800 block of Windy Creek
Offense: Aggravated Kidnapping

At approximately 3:17 pm on today’s date, officers were dispatched to the 6800 block of Windy Creek Dr for a kidnapping.

Upon arrival, officers were informed that 24-year-old Kristian Garica entered the residence of his ex-girlfriend, 18-year-old Jezabel Zamora without consent.  The reporting party told officers that Kristian forced Jezabel and her 1-year-old daughter Zaylee Zamora to leave with him against their will and they are believed to be in danger. All parties were last seen leaving in a white in color, 2007 Cadillac Escalade with Texas plates (4SJKC)

Suspect Kristian Garcia is described as a 24-year-old male, who stands 5’07”, weighs approximately 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.  Kristian has a scar on his face and visible tattoos on both forearms.   Kristian was last seen wearing a white hoodie.

Jezabel Zamora is described as an 18-year-old female, who stands 4’11”, weighs approximately 97 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, she was last seen wearing a camo tank top and blue jeans.  Jezabel has the following tattoos: Medusa tattoo on left thigh, rose on right forearm, tattoo of name Zaylee on left shoulder. 

Zaylee Zamora is described as a female, who stands 2’2”, weighs 25 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Kristian Garcia currently has the following active warrants; Murder ($1,000,000 Bond), Aggravated Robbery ($100,000 Bond). 

Investigators are seeking help from the public to locate the whereabouts of Jezabel Zamora and Zaylee Zamora.  Investigators have already submitted the required paperwork for an Amber Alert as well as a Clear Alert.

Driving during Inclement weather

During inclement weather we want our community to be safe as they travel on the roadways.

Here are a few helpful tips:

-Drive slower than usual so that you have time to react to other traffic on the roadway.
-Turn on your head lights so that you are visible to other vehicles and pedestrians.
-Be aware of possible flooding in low lying areas.
-Do not drive through flooded streets.
-It only takes 6 inches of flowing water to knock a pedestrian off their feet.
-It only takes 12 inches of flowing water to float a car or SUV.
