Detectives Seek Help To Catch Camera Thieves

The Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives would like help from the public to identify and locate three people who may have information about stolen cameras. A 51-year-old man reported a theft that happened on March 31, 2014 at the Crossbridge Fellowship located at 3002 Buffalo Street to the Corpus Christi Police. The 51-year-old man told Officers several cameras with a total value of $1,200 dollars were taken without consent by some unknown person. The 51-year-old man provided Officers with the final images before the cameras disappeared. Corpus Christi Police Detectives have images of three people and would like help from the public to identify these individuals.

Suspects Break Into Business And Take Tools

An employee of the 4 Season’s Equipment located at 430 South Padre Island Drive reported that the front doors of the business had been pried open.

Camera surveillance from the property shows two males driving a dark full size Dodge 4 door truck, pull into the parking lot, get out and look inside the front door with flashlights. They are then scene going to the side of the building and one of the men takes a rock and throws it at the camera that is recording them until it breaks. The suspects then pry the front doors of the business open and enter the showroom area. While inside the suspects steal grass trimmers, chain saws and a laptop computer. The estimated total dollar amount stolen was over $2,700 worth of property.

Both suspects appear to between twenty to thirty years old. One of the males is about 5’8” to 5’10” tall and weighs about 180 pounds wearing a button down shirt, cap, and cargo shorts. The second suspect appears to be 5’6” to 5’8” tall weighing about 170 pounds.  He is wearing a cap, black t-shirt and cargo shorts.

A 63 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he pulled into a gas station to fill up and his truck was stolen.
The victim stated he was low on gas and parked his 1992 Ford F150 truck at the gas pump and walked into the Snappy Food Store located at 5626 Leopard St. to pay and when he walked out his truck was gone.  The man said his truck was turned off, and that he had the keys in his pocket.
About twenty minutes later officers found the stolen truck parked at the gas pumps of a Stripes Store located at 3238 Buddy Lawrence.  A witness at that store told officers that he had helped the driver push the truck to the gas pumps because it had run out of gas.
The suspect is described by the witness as a young Hispanic male in his twenties about 5` 7″ tall with tattoos on both arms and near his right eye.  He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and red shorts.
The truck was returned to the owner, and officers are still investigating this case.

Financial Crimes Detectives Seek Public Help To Catch Counterfeit Thieves

The Corpus Christi Police Financial Crimes Detectives would like help from the public to identify and locate two men involved with passing counterfeit bills Sunday at a convenience store located at 4202 Staples Street.

A 35-year-old man reported the counterfeit bill to the Corpus Christi Police and explained that while the 35-year-old man worked as a store clerk, a male customer attempted to purchase cigarettes with counterfeit money. The 35-year-old man refused to sell the cigarettes and the man left the store.

The suspect is described as a 20-year-old man about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 170 pounds, and wore a white cap backwards, a black t-shirt with white lettering, black shorts, white socks and black shoes. The suspect was accompanied by a man who wore a black cap backwards, a red sleeveless shirt with a blue back to the shirt, black shorts, white socks and black shoes and spoke on a cell phone the entire visit to the store.

Female Walks Out With Stolen Shoes

The manager from the Bealls Department Store located at 5488 South Padre Island Drive called Corpus Christi Police to report that over $250 worth of shoes were stolen. The suspect female went to the shoe department in the store and began cutting security tags off shoes and then concealed the shoes in hand bags.  Security camera images show a hispanic female, 30 to 40 years of age with dark medium length hair walking out of the store without paying. Police Conduct Death Investigation on Jose Drive

UPDATE: At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Murder for Ronald Jackson (2.1.1970)
Jackson was arrested at 9:36 p.m. near Greenwood and Horne during a traffic stop. He was booked into the CDC.

The Corpus Christi Police are conducting an investigation of an unattended death which happened on the 4600 block of Jose Drive Saturday morning. Corpus Christi Police responded to a call for help at 11:05am in which a 38-year-old woman was reportedly not responsive. Officers and Emergency Medical Services arrived and determined the 38-year-old woman was deceased. The Emergency Responders observed the circumstances and suspected the death of the 38-year-old woman may not have been the result of natural causes.

Officers summoned the assistance of the Corpus Christi Police Criminal Investigations Division and the Corpus Christi Police Forensics Services to gather information and evidence from the scene. Detectives will have the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office evaluate the 38-year-old woman to determine the cause of death in order to conclude whether or not the death was a result of criminal action. Detectives are interested in speaking to several people, but there are no suspects in this event because there is no determination of criminal action until the cause of death has been identified.

A 28 year old female called Corpus Christi Police to report that her 2004 GMC Envoy SUV had been broken into while it was parked in front of a business located at 4440 S. Padre Island Dr. Camera images show a male suspect walk around the building and break the passenger side door window.  The suspect then reaches in and takes the victims purse.  The suspect was then picked up by a dark colored passenger car, unknown make or model. Masked Burglar Gets Nothing For His Troubles

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a burglary of a building located at 5422 Ayers Street, Arnold Oil Company. The owner of the business stated that between 09/16/2014 sometime after 5:00 p.m. and 09/17/2014 before 8:00 a.m., an unknown male suspect smashed out the side glass door to the business and went inside. Once inside the suspect jumped over the counter and then pried open two cash registers but no money was in the registers.  The suspect then left the business. Surveillance cameras from the business show a male wearing a mask, a cap and gloves. He appears to be 5’8” to 6’00” tall and between180 and 200 pounds. Suspect Breaks Into Church Storage Shed

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a burglary of a building located at 1017 Airline Rd. A 57 year old male victim discovered that a storage shed had been broken into and about $295 worth of property was stolen. Camera surveillance shows a male suspect 5’10” to 6’2” tall, wearing blue jeans, an orange shirt and a hat turning off power to the building and then going inside. The suspect vehicle involved is an older model navy blue Ford F-150 truck with a tool box  in the bed. Camera Images Catch Thieves At Work

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to United Rentals located at 501 S. Padre Island Dr. for a theft. The manager of the business said that two suspects came onto the property and cut off a steel lock and chain on the front gate with a reciprocating saw. A camera on the property caught images of a black sport utility vehicle, possibly a Jeep Wrangler, with two male suspects, drive up and stop along the access road and then walk back to the business.  After cutting the lock and chain the suspects then pick up the property and leave with it.  The manager believes the suspects stole the chain in order to come back later and steal more equipment.  The chain and lock that was stolen was valued at over $200.  Anyone who can identify the individuals responsible, or has any additional information about this crime should call the Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives at 886-2840.
