Police Conduct Death Investigation in Flour Bluff

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call for an unattended death at a mobile home park located at 901 Utica Street at 11:12am Friday morning. A caretaker arrived at the home and discovered a 57-year-old man had injuries and was deceased. Corpus Christi Police initiated a death investigation but have taken into consideration the circumstances such as the health history of the 57-year-old man and have not determined if the injuries were the cause of a criminal act or if they were accidental injuries. The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office collected the 57-year-old man and will perform an evaluation to determine the cause of the injuries and the cause of death. Corpus Christi Police Detectives continue to gather information to reach a conclusion whether or not this death was the result of a criminal act.

Man Attacks Woman Near Park Along Meadow Vista & Airline Road

A 23-year-old woman reported an attempted sexual assault at the 6800 block of Meadowbreeze Parkway to the Corpus Christi Police Monday night. The 23-year-old woman told Officers she jogged in the area of Meadow Vista and Airline Road when she was grabbed from behind by a man she does not know. The 23-year-old woman told Officers the man covered her mouth and struggled with the 23-year-old woman. The 23-year-old woman told Officers she bit the man on his right forearm and was able to get free from the man and run away. The 23-year-old woman told Officers she was not injured. The 23-year-old woman described the suspect as a man about 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 160 pounds, about 18 years of age with a tan complexion, and wore a cutoff maroon “Aggies” shirt and black shorts.

Three People Steal Mail and Break Into House on Cape Lookout

Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives would like help from the public to identify and locate three people who stole the contents of a mail package and broke open the door to a home on the 400 block of Cape Lookout Drive Wednesday afternoon. Corpus Christi Police responded to an alarm at the house at 3:36pm Wednesday afternoon and discovered the back door to the home broken open. The 46-year-old home owner met the Officers at the home and did not find anything missing from inside the home, but found an open parcel package by the front door with the contents gone. Corpus Christi Police met with neighbors and obtained video of the three suspects. The Officers saw the video which recorded the three suspects go to the house and quickly run away as the house alarm was activated. The three suspects then got into a black sport utility vehicle and left the area before law enforcement arrived.

Man Steals Laptop From Store Display, Now Sought By Police

Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives would like help from the public to identify and locate a man who stole a laptop computer from a store located at 5313 Saratoga Boulevard on Saturday, May 10, 2014. A 31-year-old man reported the theft to the Corpus Christi Police and explained that a man used a key to remove security devices on the laptop computer on display. The 31-year-old man told Officers the man then placed the laptop in his pants and left the store without paying for the computer. The 31-year-old man said the computer is valued at about $600 dollars and provided images of the man to Detectives.

The man is described as a male about 20 years of age with medium brown skin, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 170 pounds, with a shaved head, and wore a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes at the time of the theft.

Car Burglars Steal Handgun

On May 15, 2014 at Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 5200 block of Tartan Drive for a burglary to a vehicle. The 26 year old victim said that sometime between 11 PM on May 14 and 7 AM on May 15 a suspect entered her unlocked Toyota Tundra and stole a handgun from her center console. A neighbor who has a camera system facing the street provided investigators with images that show two male subjects exit a newer model light colored Nissan four door truck and begin walking down the street at about 3:46 AM on May 15. The truck then leaves the area. Suspect Breaks Into Two Cars On O’Malley Drive

On May 4, 2014 officers responded to the 4400 block of O’Malley Drive for a burglary to a vehicle report. The victim reported that two vehicles were parked in the driveway of his residence on 5-3-14 at 4:00 PM. The next morning he discovered an unknown suspect made entry to both vehicles during the night and removed property from inside. An image from a camera shows a male enter one of the vehicles and remove property, then get in the car parked next to it and again remove items. The suspect is a male and appears to be between the ages of 20 and 25 with short and a short sleeve shirt on. Police Hope Video Leads To A Suspect In Hit And Run

Corpus Christi Police Traffic Investigators are still investigating a hit and run crash involving a pedestrian at Harmon St. and Mary St. on May 11, 2014. The victim, a 56 year old female, suffered injuries to her hip and lower legs. Images obtained from a nearby video camera show a black truck traveling west on Mary St. when it went through the four way stop sign at the intersection. The truck then stopped and began to reverse. The vehicle then backed into the victim as she was crossing the street. The truck then began to drive forward striking the victim again and dragging her under the vehicle for several feet. The suspect is described as a male, 30-40 years of age, wearing a tan straw cowboy hat. He was driving a full size black Chevrolet truck, 2003 – 2006 year model, with chrome on the wheel wells, and chrome step sides. The vehicle is low with distinct chrome flaring on the fenders. The vehicle has a large nerf bars and appears to have a low profile tool box. The truck was last seen traveling south on Harmon Street. The Corpus Christi Police would like help from the public to locate 21-year-old Javier Molina (6/30/1992). Molina has an active warrant for his arrest from the 214th District Court for aggravated assault which was issued May 12, 2014. Molina’s last known address was on Kostoryz in Corpus Christi. Molina is described as a 21-year-old man who stands 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds, has brown eyes and brown hair, has “Mary” tattooed on his right hand and “In Memory of Jonny JR” tattooed on his chest.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a disturbance call in the 1100 block of Mendoza St.
The officers made contact with a 26 year old female who reported that she observed a white truck that was parked in the backyard of her property with a female in the driver`s seat. The female in the truck was described as being 45-55 years of age, about 5`3, 160 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, and missing front teeth. The suspect female asked the reporting party to help her with switching the license plates on the truck. The suspect female appeared shaky and seemed nervous. The suspect claimed to have a second set of license plates that she wanted to put on the truck. The caller then contacted police and the suspect driver then got back into the truck and fled from the backyard in a hurry. Officers responding to the disturbance call saw the suspect vehicle as it was turning into a business at the corner of Horne Rd. and Columbia St. The officers were able to confirm that the truck was a stolen. The driver of the stolen truck saw the officers and fled the parking lot. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle and it refused to stop. When the suspect vehicle continued to evade police, the situation became unsafe so the officers discontinued the pursuit the vehicle and it was last seen on Baldwin Blvd. going toward the Crosstown Freeway.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated (P.C. 49.04 Class B Misdemeanor)

Corpus Christi Police responded to the intersection of Brockhampton St. and Lipes Blvd. for a crash involving three vehicles. The investigation by officers determined that a 42 year old female driving a 2013 Nissan passenger car was traveling at a high rate of speed on Brockhampton St. when it crashed into another vehicle occupied by 60 year old male and his granddaughter that was stopped at the stop sign. That collision caused them to crash into a third vehicle driven by a 39 year old male. Officers believe that the female driver that caused the crash was possibly intoxicated. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for injuries to her leg. After the female refused to provide a sample of her blood, a search warrant for her blood was obtained by officers. Due to the injuries sustained in the crash, the suspect female was released to the custody of the hospital for treatment. The two other drivers and the young passenger were not seriously injured.

On May 7, 2014 at 9:45 PM Corpus Christi Police responded to a theft call at a home in the 300 block of Bermuda Place. Security camera images show two young males run up to the residence and remove the two bicycles, one from the driveway and the other from the front yard by the sidewalk. The suspects left on the stolen bicycles. A white newer model extended cab truck, possibly a Chevrolet, with a headache rack, is the suspect vehicle.
