Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released store video of a suspect they believe is involved in a burglary and used a stolen vehicle to make his getaway from officers on February 4.

Corpus Christi Police were called by the 34 year old male victim of an auto burglary advising that his vehicle had been broken into while it was parked at the IHOP Restaurant located at 5202 S. Padre Island Drive.

He told officers that the suspects had stolen several items from his 2014 Toyota truck, including a MacBook Pro laptop, by breaking out the rear passenger side window. He told officers he had tracked his laptop with another computer and it was showing to be at the Dollar General Store located at 2978 Holly Road.

As officers arrived at the store to investigate, the suspect took off in a red 2009 Saturn car, and the suspect was able to elude police. The victim continued to track the laptop and he was able to give officers updates on the suspect’s location.

The red Saturn that the suspect fled in was tracked to the 4600 block of Totten Street. Officers were directed there and found the Saturn, parked on the side of the street. The Saturn turned out to be a stolen vehicle and inside the car, officers found property from multiple auto burglaries. The victim was able to get back his garment bag with clothes valued at $800.00, a computer bag that contained the MacBook Pro valued at $2,700.00, and an IPAD valued at $700.00.

The video released is from the Dollar General Store security camera that caught images of the suspect while he was inside making purchases.  The video shows the suspect entering the business, and then standing at the store counter.  Once he exits the store, officers attempt to contact him, but he flees in the stolen Saturn car.
