Patrol Report 04/22/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 194 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight April 21 to 7:00 a.m. on April 22, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“ADAM” District

A 57 year old clerk called Corpus Christi Police after the store he was working at was robbed by a man that chased him around the counter.

The clerk told officers that a male suspect wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans entered the store armed with a long knife and came around the counter. The suspect chased the clerk around the back of the counter forcing the employee to jump over another counter to escape.

The suspect then grabbed cash from the register and ran out of the store.   He was last seen running on Leopard Street toward Lantana Street.

The clerk was not injured.

Officers did not locate the suspect, and continue to investigate this crime.

A grandmother called Corpus Christi Police after she found her 4 month old granddaughter on the front porch of her apartment.

The grandmother said that she was asleep inside when she heard a child crying outside.  When she opened the front door she found her grandchild all alone outside.  The child was left in a car seat that was placed on the ground. The car seat was not buckled and the lower half of the child’s body had wiggled free and was out of the seat.

The grandmother told officers that her 18 year old daughter did not make any type of attempt to let her know that the child was left alone outside. No attempt to knock, call, text, was made to let anyone know the baby was there and it is unknown how long the child was outside.

Child Protective Services was notified and a case was opened.

The child did not appear to be injured in any way and was left in the custody of the grandmother.

The mother was not located.

A man delivering merchandise to the Stripes Store located at 240 Naval Air Station Drive was threatened after he tried to stop a female from stealing his goods.

The 34 year old man told officers he was making a delivery at the store when some of his merchandise was stolen. When he confronted the offender to recover the property the female pulled out a tree saw blade and threatened him with it.

Officers later located the female, Michelle Ohms (03/22/1967), not very far from the store and arrested her for robbery.

 

 

“CHARLIE” District

An off duty Corpus Christi Police Officer who was working at the Wal-Mart Store located at 4109 South Staples Street was contacted by store employees after they saw a man pushing a bicycle out the door without paying.

The suspect, Jeffery Owens (01/21/1970), passed all points of sale without paying while walking the bike out.  He was contacted by the officer and arrested for theft.

The Schwinn Mountain bike valued at $199 was returned.
