The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 198 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight April 22 to 7:00 a.m. on April 23, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“BRAVO” District

Location: Beach Access Road 4
Offense: Death Investigation
Case Number: 1504220132
A 28 year old man jogging near Beach Access Road 4 on Padre Island called Corpus Christi Police after he found some human bones in the dunes.

The jogger ran to a nearby motel to call police and met them there.  He was able to direct the officers to the bones he had come across.

The Nueces County Medical Examiner was called and he confirmed that the bones were human and that they had been there for a while.

Officers will work with the Medical Examine to investigate if any crime has been committed.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

Corpus Christi Police responded to a hit and run crash with the victim tracking down the suspect driver in the 1200 block of Arnold Street.

Officers arrived and determined that a 2013 Dodge Ram truck was traveling down Arnold Street when it struck a parked 2004 Jeep Cherokee.  The owner of the Jeep was outside his home and saw the truck hit his vehicle and keep going.

He followed the hit and run vehicle by the track it left in the roadway from the heavy damage to its right front wheel.  The truck was found parked in the driveway of a home down the street.

Officers arrived and contacted the driver of the hit and run truck, Bonnie McCoy (10/20/1989), and after an investigation determined she was intoxicated.  She was arrested for driving while intoxicated and for not stopping at the crash scene.  She was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance when officers found cocaine in her wallet.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash after one car veered out of its lane of travel and struck another vehicle head on in the 6900 block of Weber Road.

Officers arrived and determined that a 2006 Ford Focus was traveling south on Weber Road when it failed to maintain a single lane and crossed over the center lane and struck a 2006 Ford Taurus, driven by a 59 year old man, that was traveling north on Weber Road.

Both drivers were injured in the crash and taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS.

After an investigation, the 21 year old male driver of the Focus was determined to be intoxicated.

Due to the injuries he sustained in the crash, he was not arrested, and remained in the hospital to be treated.  Charges may be filed against the man once blood test return and determine the level of intoxication of the driver.

Offense: Aggravated Assault

A 44 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was stabbed in the arm by his girlfriend at their apartment located in the 2800 block of South Staple Street.

Officers arrived and found the victim bleeding from a deep cut on his right forearm. Officers also saw the female suspect walking towards them. The suspect was taken into custody.

The victim told officers that the female had become upset over a photo on his phone and went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife. She then threw the knife at him and it stabbed him in the arm.

The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS to be treated for his injuries.

The female suspect, Lorena Marines (06/24/1977), was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
