Case Number: 1505040142
Corpus Christi Police were responding to the 2700 block of Carver Street to investigate a shots fired call when they were notified about a man who had walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Officers arrived on Carver Street and located a crime scene which consisted of shell casings in the middle of the street, and on the front porch of a home. Officers also found a pool of blood in the street.
During the investigation officers determined that four men were involved in a disturbance at the Dollar General Store on Morgan Avenue. Two men pulled up and got into a disturbance with two other men.
When the two men who had been at the store attempted to leave in their vehicle, they were followed by the other two men. The two men pulled into the driveway of their home on Carver Street and one of the male suspects that had been following them got out of his vehicle and started shooting at them from the street.
They both ran into the house, retrieved a handgun, and returned fire striking the man who was firing at them in his lower back. Once he was shot, the man had his brother drive him to Spohn Memorial Hospital.
Officers will continue to investigate this case, but at this time, no arrests have been made.
The 28 year old man who was shot continues to recover at the hospital.
