Date: Tuesday, May 5, 2015
Location 4800 Agnes at 200 Omaha
Event: Vehicle Crashes
Case Number: 1505050035

The 200 block of Omaha is closed to traffic for an undetermined amount of time until the road and railroad can be repaired after a series of vehicle crashes.

Corpus Christi Police responded to provide traffic control after a fuel truck spilled diesel fuel on the road. Officers closed Agnes from Navigation to Baldwin while crews cleaned the fuel spill. There is no danger to the public and the road closure is expected to last until early evening. Officers are investigating the possibility that the truck tractor with the trailer full of fuel went over the railroad tracks at the 200 block of Omaha and the high center punctured the trailer.

While the cleaning process was underway, a second truck tractor with a trailer to haul vehicles became stuck on the railroad tracks at the200 block of Omaha. The Corpus Christi Police Traffic Safety Section have set barricades to prevent vehicle traffic from travel over the railroad tracks at the 200 block of Omaha until repairs can be made.
