A female called Corpus Christi Police and reported to them that her boyfriend had assaulted her and held her against her will at a motel for three days.
Officers arrived at the motel, located at 5300 Leopard Street, and found the 24 year old female. She told them about being hit several times in her face and head by her 30 year old boyfriend. She also told them that she was not allowed to leave the motel for three days, and that he had prevented her from calling 911 for help.
Officers did not observe the female victim to have any injuries.
The female also told officers that the male had left the motel with his mother.
Other officers in the area spotted the mothers vehicle with the man inside traveling on Interstate 37. Once they stopped the car, they brought the man back to the motel to be identified.
While officers were investigating this case, the female told them that she had made up the entire story just to get the man put in jail.
Officers arrested the female, Tracie Rios (10/08/1990), for making a false report to police, a Class B Misdemeanor.
The man was released at the scene.

Corpus Christi Police were called after a City of Corpus Christi Wastewater employee was attacked by a man with a shovel in the 13900 block of Flintlock Drive.
Officers arrived and were told by the city employee that he was driving his Ford F250 marked city truck when a man driving a brown pick-up started tailgating him. The pick-up passed him once and the driver made an obscene gesture with his hand.
The city employee continued to his destination but then saw the pick-up behind him again. When the city employee stopped in the 13900 block of Flintlock Drive, the pick-up stopped right next to him and the driver got out and confronted the city employee.
When the city employee got out, the man started yelling at him because he did not signal a turn down the street. The man then reached over to the back of his pick-up and grabbed a shovel out of the truck bed and hit the city employee on his back.
Officers arrested the man with the shovel, James Kyle Jones (02/25/1988), for aggravated assault.
CCFD EMS responded to treat the city employee for a cut to his back. He refused to be transported to the hospital

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of McClendon Street and found the driver to have several counterfeit bills in his possession.
The officer stopped the 2005 Ford two door car after he observed the driver was not wearing his seat belt. When the officer attempted to get the drivers identification, he gave false names. Once his real name was discovered, the officer found he had an outstanding arrest warrant for forgery.
After the man was arrested, the officer began to inventory the suspect’s car to be impounded. During the inventory the officer found several forged United States currency bills in various denominations. He also found two Visa debit card which belonged to another person, a Texas ID card, and four Bank of America checks for different amounts. There were also several other checks from other banks made out to different individuals and or businesses and a social security card of another man.
While investigating this crime, officers were informed that just prior to being stopped by police, that the suspect had passed counterfeit bills at the Santa Rosa Restaurant located at 2722 South Staples Street.
The suspect, Matthew Scott Cameron (11/07/1975), was charged with the outstanding forgery warrant, failure to identify, forgery, and fraud.
