The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 755 calls for service and generated 173 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. June 7 to 7:00 a.m. on June 8, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

“BRAVO” District

Location: 1900 Ennis Joslin Road
Offense: Driving While Intoxicated
P.C. 49.04       Class B Misdemeanor

Corpus Christi Police were called to investigate a single vehicle crash at the dead end of Ennis Joslin Road.

The crash investigation revealed that a 2009 Ford truck, driven by a 47 year old man, failed to negotiate a turn onto Williams Drive, and it struck a dead end sign, traveled into a field, and then struck a dumpster.

The crash caused the truck to catch on fire and it was fully engulfed.

After an investigation, the driver Sammie Valero (04/30/1968), was found to be intoxicated.  He was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Corpus Christi Police are investigating eight reported burglaries to parked vehicles in the same neighborhood.

After receiving a call regarding a burglary to an auto in the 2200 block of Anacua Street, officers began to look around the Los Arboles neighborhood located off the 7700 block of Holly Road and they found eight different cars had been broken into.  Most of the vehicles had glass windows broken out to gain entry.

A total of four cars on Anacua Street were located, two on Abeto Street, and one each one Arbolito Street and Halcon Drive.

Officers are still investigating this case, and at this time no suspects have been arrested.

Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to the Taco Bell, located at 2201 Morgan Avenue, after a female was found by a restaurant employee in the restroom passed out with a needle sticking out of her arm.

Officers were assisting CCFD EMS with the 28 year old female when they were directed to another man that was down in the parking lot of the nearby Walgreens Store. The officers found, Carl Berger (01/13/1982), in the parking lot of the business with a needle in his arm and passed out as well. CCFD EMS were able to wake the male and officers found that he had an outstanding arrest warrant for fraud. He was additionally charged with possession of marijuana when several bags containing the substance was found in his pants pockets.

The man was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital and medically cleared. He was then arrested and taken to jail.

The 28 year old female was also taken by CCFD EMS to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 21 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was assaulted at a park in the 500 block of King Street.

The male victim told officers that a man that he knew lured him to the park by saying he wanted to play basketball.  When the victim arrived, the man accused him of seeing his girlfriend.  The victim was then jumped by the man and two other males.

The victim suffered several wounds to his face, forehead mouth and eyes as a result of being assaulted by the three men.  He told officers he had driven to the park in his car, and then fled on foot after the assault.  When he walked back to get his car, it was gone.

Officers identified the suspect that had assaulted the victim, however, he was not located.

A report was also taken regarding the victims stolen 1991 Oldsmobile sedan.
