Date: 06/08/2015       3:45 PM
Location: 3900 West River Drive
Offense: Burglary
P.C. 30.04       Class A Misdemeanor
Case Number: 1506080140
It didn’t take burglars very long to use a stolen credit card they took from a purse that was inside a parked car.

A 30 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police after she parked her 2013 Dodge Journey at a business located at 3922 W. River Drive just before 7:30 PM and when she returned about an hour later she found the back passenger side window had been broken out.  The female said her purse was stolen from inside of the vehicle and in the purse were bank cards, her social security card, and a checkbook.

When the female called her bank to report the stolen items, she was told one of her credit cards had been used at a Stripes Store in Robstown to purchase $197 in merchandise at 8:15 PM.

At this time no suspects have been identified, and officers are investigating possible video surveillance at both locations.

“BRAVO” District
Date: 06/08/2015       1:45 PM
Location: 9500 South Padre Island Drive
Offense: Forgery
P.C. 32.21       Third Degree Felony
Case Number: 1506080074

Corpus Christi Police responded to the Plains Capital Bank, located at 9517 South Padre Island Drive, after a man walked in and tried to cash a forged check.

Bank employees told officers that a black male suspect was attempting to cash a forged check made out to himself in the amount of $957 with what appeared to be a fake identification card. The check was determined to be void from a medical staffing agency. Once the police were contacted the male left the check and fled on foot.

It appears as though the same male also made it by the Prosperity Bank, located at 15201 South Padre Island Drive, and attempted to cash a $939 check just prior to going to the Plains Capitol Bank. A bank employee said that a black male about 6`0 tall, 180 pounds wearing a black muscle shirt, plaid shorts and black shoes had walked in and attempted to cash a check issued by a Courier Service on a closed account. The suspect also had scarring or bumps all along his left arm according to the employee. He left the location prior to the bank contacting police.

Officers are looking into obtaining video images from both banks of the suspect.

At this time no arrests have been made.
