A 47 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he saw what appeared to be a van with headlights on in the Nueces River.
Officers, along with CCFD and AVFD arrived and were told by the man that he was returning from Odem and crossing the bridge when he saw lights illuminated near the bridge at Labonte Park. The man turned around and when he got to the public boat ramp he observed a silver colored minivan partially submerged and floating down the river. He could not determine if there was anyone inside the van.
A rescue crew from the AVFD was placed on a boat in the water but had to cancel operations due to lightning.
The CCPD dive team is responding this morning to assist. The four member CCPD team will launch the dive boat and work the sonar from the curve of the river to the railroad bridge.

Two young females had to hide in a bedroom closet after a man broke into their home in the 2100 block of Harriett Drive.
The 14 year old and 9 year old, who were staying home by themselves, told Officers that they heard knocking on the front door but did not answer. When they looked outside they saw a black four door car parked out front and a white man with a mustache and a shaved head walking toward the side of their house.
The man then pushed in a window air conditioner unit and entered the house through the opening.
Both girls hid inside a closet in another bedroom. When the suspect made his way into the same bedroom as the girls, he saw them and walked out of the house through the front door. He got into the car and left.
The suspect was last seen wearing long black basketball style shorts and a grey t-shirt.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling with no head lights on in the 2000 block of Treyway Lane.
The Officer went to stop the 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier when he was informed that it had been reported stolen on May 30 from the parking lot of the HEB located at Port Avenue and Tarlton Street.
The stolen car pulled into a parking lot in the 5500 block of South Padre Island Drive and the driver, Thomas Lopez (07/14/1997), was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
A 16 year old male, who was a reported runaway, was also in the vehicle and he was released to his mother.

A 26 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was robbed by two men at his home in the 600 block of Mohawk Street.
The victim told Officers that he was called outside by name. Once he stepped to the front door two black male suspects wearing ski masks rushed into his home and pointed a gun at him. One of the suspects placed a gun to the victims head and demanded money and his shoes.
The suspects took money from his pockets and his cell phone. They then had him go to his bedroom and they took a laptop computer and two pair of Jordan shoes.
Both suspects then ran out the front door. They are described as being two light skinned black males, in their early twenties, both wearing hoodies and masks.
At this time no suspects have been arrested and Officers continue to investigate this crime.
