A 19 year old man drown in the swimming pool of a hotel located at 15202 Windward Drive on Padre Island while swimming with his sister.
Corpus Christi Police arrived and were told by the victim’s sister that she was swimming with her brother when she got out of the pool to go to the restroom. When she returned, she observed him floating in the water.
Several people helped her pull him out of the pool and a female nurse began CPR. CCFD EMS transported the man to Bay Area Hospital where he was pronounced dead about three hours after arriving.
The two family members were in Corpus Christi vacationing from Austin.

Two men visiting Corpus Christi from Arizona got into a verbal argument with a large group of males at a convenience store on Padre Island and that led to them being assaulted.
Corpus Christi Police responded to the Stripes Store, located at 14526 South Padre Island Drive after everyone had left. They were told that a 24 year old man exited the store, and as he was walking to his car, he started yelling at a large group of men that were in the parking lot.
The group of about 8 to 9 men walked over and began to fight with the man that was yelling and his 33 year old friend. After the fight, everyone involved left the area.
Officers did get a call a few minutes later from the two men who had pulled over into the Wal Mart Store parking lot, located at 1250 Flour Bluff Drive. The younger man who had started yelling at the group had been beaten and was stabbed once on the head. His older friend was stabbed on the right arm and had a small cut on his chest.
Injuries to both men were non-life threatening, but the two were both transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital for treatment.
At this time, none of the males in the large group have not been identified, and no arrests have been made.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a call about a man trying to get into the night deposit box of the Buccaneer Apartments located at 100 Buccaneer Drive.
When Officers arrived they found a 2008 Ford Escape parked near the office. There was a female standing outside of the vehicle and a male and another female attempting to duck down and hide themselves inside the SUV.
The male in the back seat, Albert Falkenberg Jr. (04/12/1989), admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. As officers continued to investigate, they found several money orders made out to the Buccaneer Apartments and two other apartment complexes in the vehicle.
Officers also found mouse glue traps with string attached. Officers believe that the glue traps were used to pull the money orders from the night deposit box of the different apartment complexes.
Officers were able to contact a female witness who saw the male using the string to pull out envelopes from the night deposit box at the Buccaneer Apartments office door.
When Officers located the money orders inside the suspect’s vehicle, one of them had already been washed. The female who had earlier attempted to hide herself when Officers approached her, had written her name on the money order.
The male was arrested for burglary and possession of marijuana. The female who had put her name on the money order, Erika Gonzalez (01/19/1993), was arrested for forgery and burglary. The other female with the group, Wendy Rodriguez (12/09/1995) was also arrested for burglary.

A 46 year old female, who had just returned home from being treated at the hospital after she was assaulted by her boyfriend, was assaulted again by the same man.
Corpus Christi Police arrived at the apartment complex, located at 1114 25th Street, and they were told by the female that her 48 year old boyfriend had hit her with a candlestick in her head and her back several times. He also bit the female on her left hand and she was choked by the man following an argument she had with him.
The female told Officers that she had just returned home from Spohn Memorial Hospital after being treated for injuries caused by the same offender. She said a verbal argument began when she returned home and her boyfriend became violent and began assaulting her again.
Officers were able to identify the male suspect, however, they did not locate him.
The female was transported back to Spohn Memorial Hospital for her new injuries by CCFD EMS.

A 40 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he was beaten and robbed in the 300 block of North Shoreline Boulevard.
Officers arrived and were told by the victim that five men approached him and acted like they knew him. They all then attacked him by punching and kicking him.
When the victim fell to the ground and tried to cover his face for protection one of the men got on top of him and hit him in the face while the others kicked him. One of the men took his phone and wallet, then they all fled the scene running down Shoreline Boulevard.
The victim was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital for injuries not believed to be life threatening.
Officers were able to locate one of the suspects who had taken part in this crime as he was walking on Chaparral Street near Interstate 37. That suspect attempted to evaded officers on foot when they tried to contact him. The suspect, Juan Garcia (01/16/1993), was caught after a short foot pursuit and arrested for evading and robbery.
A second suspect, Armando Perez (10/14/1992), was found near Chaparral Street and Hughes Street. He was arrested for robbery.
Officers continue to look for other suspects who were involved in this crime.

Corpus Christi Police are investigating how a 27 year old man was shot several times while he was in his home located at 2634 Nogales Street.
Officers responded to Spohn Shoreline Hospital after the victim and his 27 year old girlfriend arrived there after being transported by CCFD EMS.
The male victim appeared to have been shot in his left arm, left shoulder and the left side of his neck. He was not able to speak to Officers about what had happened.
The girlfriend told Officers that they were inside the home when she found that he had been shot and they attempted to treat the wounds.
Officers took the girlfriend back to the location and located a crime scene inside of the house.
Officers continue to investigate what occurred inside the home, but at this time no suspects have been arrested.
The victim was transferred from Spohn Shoreline to Spohn Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injures.
