A crash in the 4600 block of Corona Drive sent one man to the hospital and another man to jail.
Corpus Christi Police responded and found two trucks had crashed head on into each other. An investigation revealed that a 2015 Toyota truck was traveling west on Corona Drive. It was driven by, Ismael M. Cantu (11/21/1984), and was occupied by a 31 year old male front seat passenger.
While attempting to negotiate a curve in the road, the truck drifted out of its lane and struck a 2005 Nissan Frontier truck traveling east head on. The Nissan was being driven by a 52 year old man.
After an investigation, it was determined that the driver of the Toyota truck was intoxicated and he was arrested for intoxication assault.
The passenger in the Toyota truck was not injured, however, the driver of the Nissan truck suffered very serious injuries to his left arm and was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital.

Corpus Christi Police Internet Crimes Against Children, the Organized Crime Unit, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant at an apartment located at 6947 Everhart Road.
The search warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation that led Officers to believe that a resident at the location was downloading child pornography images from a peer to peer network.
As a result of evidence discovered upon service of the search warrant, the resident, Sanchez Miguel (03/07/1967), was arrested for possession of child pornography, a second degree felony.

A 24 year old employee of a Stripes Store, located at 6002 Ayers Street, called Corpus Christi Police after a man robbed the business.
The employee told Officers he was working behind the counter when he saw a male wearing all black clothing carrying a handgun come into the store. He said the suspect told him not to move and to give him all the bills. The suspect took bills from the register cash drawer and then exited the store and ran across the street.
The suspect was last seen wearing a black long sleeve jacket, blue jeans, a black mask covering his face and he was wearing black gloves. The suspect was not located, and Officers continue to investigate this crime.

An employee of the Stripes Store, located at 1050 Nueces Bay Boulevard, called Corpus Christi Police after they found that they had taken in two counterfeit bills earlier in the day.
Officers arrived at the store and were told that the store clerk was counting money to deposit for the business when he came across two twenty dollar bills that were counterfeit. The clerk believes that the fake bills were passed by a customer purchasing items earlier in the evening.
The clerk did not have any suspect information to give and the store is reviewing video surveillance to try and determine who and passed the bills.

A 22 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his brother stabbed him at their home located in the 900 block of Behmann Street.
Officers arrived and were told by the man that his older brother was yelling and being aggressive toward him and their mother. When the younger brother told him to stop, he was cut on his back with a screwdriver that his brother had. He was treated by CCFD EMS at the scene.
The older brother fled on foot prior to police arrival, however, Officers located him a short time later walking on Matlock Street. The older brother, Ronald Garcia (08/20/1991), was arrested for aggravated assault.
The weapon was not located.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated With a Child Passenger

A SUV stopped at an intersection stop sign for an extended period of time, led Corpus Christi Police to an intoxicated female driver.
Officers arrived at the intersection of Brawner Parkway and Ramsey Street and found the female driver passed out behind the wheel of her 2002 Buick Rendezvous with the engine still running and the vehicle in drive. Also in the car, Officers found her 2 year old son in the back, sitting in a car seat.
After an investigation, Officers determined that the female was under the influence of synthetic cannabis. Also in the vehicle, Officers found evidence of synthetic cannabis.
The female driver, Beyanca Sandoval (11/24/1990), was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, and possession of a controlled substance.
The child was not injured and was released to a family friend.
