The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 940 calls for service and generated 204 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. August 4 to 7:00 a.m. on August 5, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

A bank teller called Corpus Christi Police after she noticed that the drive thru ATM at the Navy Army Federal Credit Union, located at 5725 Spohn Drive, had been damaged.

Officers arrived and were told that video surveillance captured a dark colored Chevrolet Avalanche truck enter the drive thru lane at about 11:35 PM on August 3.

The first thing the male suspect does is spray paint the surveillance camera on the machine. He then exits the truck and breaks the lock on the front panel of the ATM and then attempts to use a heating tool to make entry into the safe located at the bottom of the machine.

The suspect was unsuccessful in his attempts to get any money from inside the ATM, but he did cause nearly $5000 in damage.

At this time, Officers are still investigating this case and no suspects have been arrested.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol observed a car, traveling in the 1400 block of Westpoint Road, that had been reported stolen from a Leopard Street motel on July 13.

The Officer was able to stop the 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis and he arrested the driver, Joshua Rivas (12/27/1990), for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

He was additionally charged with possession of marijuana after a gram of “hydo” was found in the front seat cup holder of the vehicle.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call of several shots fired in the area of the Treyway Terrace Apartments, located at 2022 Treyway Lane.

When Officers arrived they found seven shell casings belonging to a .40 caliber weapon in the street at the entrance of the parking lot.

A 20 year old female told Officers that her boyfriend came over and was banging on the front door of her apartment. She refused to open the door and he got back into his car. When he left he fired a gun several times into the air. Nothing appeared to be hit by the bullets.

The female gave a description of his vehicle, and Officers across town found it parked at a home located in the 1300 block of Stillman Street.

Officers observed a man outside the car, attempting to hide near the house.  When they approached him they found a handgun on the ground near him. It turned out that the .40 caliber Sig Sauer semi-automatic pistol was stolen from a home in the 1900 block of Baldwin Boulevard back on June 22.

Officers arrested, Michael Young (09/18/1991), for discharging the firearm on Treyway Lane. He was additionally charged with theft of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm, both felony charges.
