The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 949 calls for service and generated 210 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. August 6 to 7:00 a.m. on August 7, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Location: 3100 Ayers Street
Offense: Aggravated Robbery
P.C. 29.03       First Degree Felony
Case Number: 1508070022
A suspect walked into the Stripes Store, located at 3102 Ayers Street, with a black object in his hand, demanding money from the two store employees that were on duty.

The two employees did not believe the object was a gun, but the suspect used it to threaten them. The suspect walked behind the counter and began to push several buttons on the cash register in attempt to open it.

One of the employees said he was calling the police and the suspect started to leave. Before walking out the suspect grabbed the cash register and threw it on the ground. The suspect fled the store without getting any money.

He was described as a Hispanic male in his late twenties to middle thirties, with a large build. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, a dark grey t-shirt and jeans, and his face was covered with a dark grey cloth.

No suspects have been arrested in this case, and Officers continue to investigate this crime.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a bus bench in the 11200 block of Leopard Street.

When Officers arrived they found a 2004 Ford SUV had rolled over onto its side after striking a RTA bus bench and a trash can.

After an investigation, the driver, Christopher Duarte (11/12/1996), was determined to be intoxicated and he was arrested. He was taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being booked into the City Detention Center.

Damage to the RTA property was estimated to be $300.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol in the North Beach area observed two people sitting in a vehicle that was stolen.

The male and the female were both asleep in the 2004 Chevrolet truck that was pulled off into the grass in the 600 block of Seagull Boulevard.

The male, who was in the driver’s seat, was identified as Higinio Casarez (10/16/1974). He was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The female in the passenger seat, Angelica Vogiatzis (02/01/1979), was arrested for public intoxication.

The truck the two were in was listed as stolen from Beeville, Texas.

A 33 year old female walked into the Stripes Store, located at 1601 Agnes Street, after she was stabbed in the stomach.

Officers arrived and were attempting to investigate the assault, however, the female victim did not give them much information. She would not tell them were the stabbing had occurred, or who the suspects were.

The victim did have a stab wound to her lower abdomen and she was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS to be treated.

Officers will continue to try and investigate this crime with the very limited information that was disclosed.

Location: 5600 Agnes Street
Offense: Burglary
P.C. 30.02       State Jail Felony
Case Number: 1508070021
A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol in the 5600 block of Agnes Street noticed the chain link fence to a business had been pealed back.

The hole in the fence was large enough to remove a medium sized piece of equipment from the yard. The fence was freshly cut and the top portion was being held up by two handicap parking signs.

The owner of the property arrived and told Officers that a Polaris 4 seat ATV appears to have been stolen from the business.

The owner is also trying to determine if other items were taken.

At this time no suspects have been identified in this case and Officers continue to investigate this crime.
