The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 867 calls for service and generated 221  reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. November 15 to 7:00 a.m. on November 16, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Case Number: 1511150088
A 27 year old mother on her way to buy diapers for her six month old son was attacked by a female who wanted her prescription pills.

The mother called Corpus Christi Police and told them that she was on her way to the HEB Store, located in the 3500 block of Leopard Street., pushing her child in a stroller.   The mother said she was approached by the female suspect who asked her about the pill bottle she was holding in her hand.

When the mother refused to talk to her, the suspect hit her on the right side of her face with her fist.  The two began to fight over the pill bottle and during the struggle the baby stroller was knocked over with the child inside.  The female suspect then produced a knife and the mother relinquished control of the pill bottle.  The bottle was full of hydrocodone pills that were prescribed to the mother to help her recover from a recent back surgery.

The child was not injured, but the mother was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The female suspect fled on foot.  She was last seen wearing a black Marilyn Monroe t-shirt, cut off shorts and black tennis shoes. She has several tattoos, including a tear drop near her eye.

Case Number: 1511150104
Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash with a live power line down at the intersection of Yorktown Boulevard and Dallas Street.

Officers arrived and the crash investigation revealed that the driver of a 2002 Chevrolet truck was on Yorktown Boulevard and lost control of his vehicle, going across all lanes of traffic before clipping a power pole and knocking down a fence. The truck came to rest in the back yard of 4922 Kerrville Drive.

After an investigation, Officers determined that the driver, Nicolas Castro (02/17/1992), was intoxicated. He was not injured in the crash and was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

AEP responded to clear the downed power lines, and they estimated the damage to the pole was nearly $3500.

The homeowner said damage to his fence was estimated to be another $1000.

Case Number: 1511150103
A 28 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police after two females and a male she knew showed up at her home in the 4200 block of Junior Terrace brandishing knives and demanding their property back.

The victim told Officers that the group showed up and began threatening her and her 28 year old boyfriend with a knife. One of the female suspects took an Ipad and a cell phone from the victim.

The victim was able to provide Officers the address to find the two females that were involved. Officers went to the 1400 block of Corban Drive and arrested both females, Julia Calvo (08/29/1978) and Leticia Ann Reyna (08/24/1971), for aggravated robbery.

The 45 year old male suspect was identified, but he was not located.

The stolen items were not located.

Location: 4900 Dody Street
Offense: Aggravated Assault

Case Number: 1511150019
A pregnant female was arrested by Corpus Christi Police after she intentionally ran over her ex-boyfriend with a vehicle in the 4900 block of Dody Street.

Officers arrived and determined that the female, Miranda Ybarra (11/02/1994), who is five months pregnant with her ex-boyfriends child, got emotionally distraught when she saw her exes car in front of his new girlfriends home on Dody Street.

When the ex-girlfriend saw him walking to his car with the new girl, she intentionally drove her 2007 Chrysler Town & Country van into his parked 2004 Ford Mustang. The crash knocked the Mustang into the boyfriend striking him. He was thrown and suffered a broken left leg.  He was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS.

The other female, barely escaped being hit herself, but was not injured.

The pregnant female was taken to Spohn South Hospital and treated for minor injuries and then arrested for aggravated assault.
