The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 938 calls for service and generated 191 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. January 13 to 7:00 a.m. on January 14, 2016. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Case Number: 1601130134
A 24 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after two vehicles parked in front of his home, located in the 300 Beverly Drive, were struck by gunfire.

The man told Officers that just as he was going to bed he heard five gunshots outside his home. He went out to find his 2009 Pontiac G6 had the back window shattered and a bullet hole in the rear on the driver’s side. There was also a bullet hole in the top of the car, and one of the tires was flat.

Another vehicle that was parked in front of the man’s house that he was watching for a family member was also struck by gunfire. A 1993 Ford Ranger had a tail light cracked by a bullet.

In total the man estimated that there was over $1,500 in damage to both vehicles.

Corpus Christi Police were called after a home and two vehicles in the 4300 block of Killarmet Drive were struck by gunfire.

Officers arrived and found that the home had a bedroom window shot out, and the garage door had also been damaged by gunfire. Two vehicles parked in front of the home a 2015 Hyundai Tucson and a 2012 Chevrolet Impala, had both been struck several times.

In total the female homeowner estimated that there was over $1,600 in damage done to her property.

Case Number: 1601130132
A 40 year old male homeowner called Corpus Christi Police after a neighbor of his threatened him with a shotgun.

Officers arrived at the man’s home, located in the 3300 block of Olsen Drive, and he told them that he was tired of his neighbor selling drugs. The homeowner went out to confront someone in a vehicle that had pulled in into his driveway that he believed was there to buy drugs from a neighbor.  While the homeowner was confronting the driver of the vehicle that was parked in his driveway, his 20 year old neighbor came out armed with a shotgun, making threats to the man.

The homeowner was able to go back into his house and he called police.

The neighbor left the area before Officers arrived.

The homeowner was able to give Officers the neighbor’s identity, however, he has not been located.

Employees of a business, located at 2754 South Staples Street, called Corpus Christi Police after a man came into the store, armed with a gun.

Officers arrived and were told that a man wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans, black and white gloves, and a blue ski mask came into the store carrying a gun in his right hand. The male suspect demanded a carton of cigarettes and money from the cash register. After getting the items he ran out of the store and got into a white truck that was waiting on the side of the building.

At this time, no suspects have been identified.
