Corpus Christi Police arrested 34 year old Anthony Richardson (10/29/1982) for Aggravated Assault after Detectives investigated an injury at a store on South Padre Island Drive Wednesday night.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call of an injured person at a store located at 1821 South Padre Island Drive at 10:15pm Wednesday night. Officers learned that a 63 year old man hired as a contract worker to paint in the store was injured. The 63 year old man was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of head trauma. The Officers conducted an investigation into the injury as an accident until they discovered evidence to lead them to believe the injury was actually the result of an assault.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives responded to the scene and discovered evidence of a confrontation between the injured 63 year old man and another contract employee. Detectives believe the contractors are not employees of the store, but hired to do reconstruction work in the store. Detectives interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence which prompted Detectives to identify this event as a criminal action. Detectives arrested Anthony Richardson (10/29/1982) for Aggravated Assault and delivered Richardson to the city detention center. The charge is a 2nd degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
