At approximately 2:32 Pm on Friday, August 13, 2021, Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Santa Fe for a Robbery with a weapon.
Upon arrival, officers determined that a local pharmacy had been robbed by an offender that had just left the scene in a vehicle. The victims advised that they had been restrained and locked in a closet as the suspect fled the scene. The victims advised that the suspect was able to get away with several prescription medications and personal property.
Officers gathered information about the suspect and put out a description of the suspect and suspect vehicle; an officer in the area observed the truck matching the description of the suspect vehicle, at which point the officer attempted to effect a traffic stop.
The offender accelerated at a high rate of speed and attempted to evade officers, while officers observed him throwing items out of his vehicle. The suspect eventually lost control of his vehicle and crashed near the area of IH37 and McBride.
The suspect then attempted to evade on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the offender, identified as 38-year-old Andrea Jack was taken into custody, without further incident. A handgun was also recovered.
Jack was found to have three outstanding warrants for Probation Violation/Weapons Offense, Aggravated Robbery and First-Degree Felony Aggravated Robbery.
Jack was charged with Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Kidnapping, Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Evading Arrest with Vehicle, Evading Arrest, and the three outstanding Felony Warrants.
Jack was transported to the City Detention Center for processing.
