At approximately 8:37 am on Monday, October 10, 2022, officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of McArdle. Officers were advised that someone may have been injured.
Officers investigated the call and were able to identify an apartment of interest, which led to discovery of a young male deceased inside one of the apartments. The victim was later identified as an 18-year-old male.
Through their investigation, Homicide Detectives followed up on several leads and were able to identify an offender in the homicide. Detectives were able to secure an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Andrew Lugo for Murder ($500,000 Bond).
Officers with the US Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force developed information on the whereabouts of Lugo.
At approximately 5:30 pm on Monday, October 10, 2022, officers with our Directed Patrol Unit took Lugo into custody on the 1400 block of Corban, without incident.
Lugo was transported to the main station to be interviewed and was later transported to the City Detention Center for processing.
